Default I found it FinLady

I still can't find my keys (DH mentioned, maybe I dropped the in our DDs car). But I found my card. It was in my wallet. But I don't understand, I swear I looked at every centimeter of my wallet a half a dozen times Today my DH & I went & got a pair of house keys recut, but the front door one is not working. It's an old house & we can not find a key match, the one they made is a little too thick. I have the back door key however & the most important thing is that card. I need it so I can get the $ I need when DH is gone, with his.

Glad you found the card. I was a little worried. Hope the hunt for the keys works out too.

I'm not sure what card you found, but woohoo!!!

I still haven't found my Visa debit card I so carefully "hid" in the house while we were on a cruise in February. They won't issue a replacement w/o changing the number, etc. So I keep hoping it will turn up.

Also, there's 5 (count 'em: FIVE) $100 bills somewhere in my house. (Or there used to be...hope they're still around).

I hope your keys turn up soon.

Let me give you a trick I learned about keys. I have about 7 pocketbooks that I have in my house. I probably only use 3 or four through the year, but sometimes, I might want the pink one, or the white fanny pack, etc.

I have a key attached to one of those long key ring thingees (they look like skinny slinkys). I have a key ATTACHED INSIDE OF EVERY SINGLE POCKETBOOK IN MY HOUSE.

All my fanny packs. Every single one. That way, I don't have to look for any keys.

I also have all my medical history (what kind of insulin, blood pressure meds), etc. written on little index cards. I have one in each pocketbook in case I get into an accident, fall down, whatever.

I also wear two bracelets. One for diabetes and one for allergy to pennicilin. They never come off.

This way I cover ALL MY BASES.

I can't be locked out of my house, and all my medical info is in each pocketbook.

I don't care if I forget a Visa card. I just don't want to be locked out or not covered in case of emergency.

You have no idea what a good method this key thing is.

Oh, and when I go around the corner at night to sit on a friend's porch, and I don't want to bring a fanny pack or a pocketbook, well hanging on the inside of the my front door is a long rope kind of necklace with YET ANOTHER HOUSE KEY ATTACHED TO IT.

So I simply slip it over my head and go out the door.

I've never been locked out since.

What's it cost to make up a key?? $1.00??? So I have 7 or 8 keys and I'm safe.

It's a good idea, believe me.

You have some good ideas, Melody! I carry my card that says I have a VNS for my epilepsy with my Dr's name & phone number on it.

How could we live without keys, with DH gone (but I just thought, why couldn't he take his off his key ring & give them to me? He doesn't need them in Illinois when the house is in Ohio.) Did you guys say a prayer for me or something ~~~ I FOUND MY KEYS! Guess where they were? I sat down & heard noise (2 things clinking together) & they were between the lining & outer material of my purse. I didn't know there was a hole. I ripped the hole more so I could get to them. Next I went to look for another purse but couldn't find a big enough one. I decided to get to the other side of the hole by pulling the lining thru another little hole & I closed that big one by wrapping that part with a rubber band & will not use the area with the little hole (do you even understand what I'm saying?). Anyway, I'll just use this purse till I get a new one tomorrow or so.

Twinkletoes, It was my ATM card. I need to take $ out with DH using his in another state. (he usually takes it out but gives me some) Also, if you can come pick me up I'll help you look for that $ for only $250. Thats $250 for you too....thats better than missing $500.

weegot5kiz, The Freezer???!!

I just wanted to add something. I swear, one minute ago my DH left again. But....I didn't cry. Besides, I have epilepsy & don't drive, thus can't find a job (we have crumby bus service in town) so he has to make all the money.

lor, so glad your ATM card and keys have both been found!!! Glad you heard those keys!

Melody, I'm happy to know you have all your bases covered!

My car key has some sort of electronic chip in it and I don't think it can be duplicated for just a dollar.

I have no idea where my house keys are. Haven't seen them in years! I let DH take care of locking up when we leave town.

Twinkletoes, The car my DH rented doesn't even have a key. At least not an ignition key. You have the little thing that can lock & unlock the doors and you have to have it by the ignition to start. (He can have it in his pocket then start the car.) It's a Nisson Maxima. He drove it home Fri, then we could keep it & use it Sat & the place he works for pays for the gas. But there's still a price to pay....he has (had) to go back to Illinois Sunday afternoon.
