Left leg for the clutch...right leg for gas and brakes. Your right Jo...I learned how to "float" gears when I drove 18 wheelers..so much easier than using the clutch. Now I have to drive an automatic, weak left leg.

Melody,

Nice memories of rollerskating! Glad you have those happy (and vivid) memories!:D

I apologize...I don't know why I'd thought you'd had a bike?
(I think it is because I am a huge fan of bikes and simply assume everyone like so to ride them? Only this year, I have lost my grip in one hand due to nerve injury and...I cannot ride my road bike at all...cannot hold on with one hand. Definitely need to hold on with both hands in tht riding position!:()

Your stories make me laugh!

And let's not forget the truckers' trick of "double-clutching"! The only hand operated clutch I ever used was on motorcycles. The gas, or throttle was on the right hand. But you just grabbed a "handful of throttle" and twisted the hand-grip for mo power!
