oh, not until Sept, after Labor Day, maybe in the middle of that first week or so.

I have a thread on PN... you can check that. Also if you have a question for me, please send it as a PM...if I get online it will be briefly...and PM's are faster to go thru than a zillion threads!

:D Otay, now I can quit bugging you about that. :o

Thanks everyone! Wasn't sure anyone was still reading my birdie adventures. *shrug*

Maxie is still sitting on the windowsill. Haven't seen her parents feeding her today, but they are sitting outside on the wires where they always do, keeping an omniscient eye on things. When they see a bug they zoom out and catch it.

What amazes me is the way they can hover. Like a hummingbird around a feeder, only they don't fly backwards ever. I've seen one hover for prolly 15 seconds w/o landing. Not exactly in the same spot, but pretty close.

Kelly, just whose heads did you think I was cutting off, Lol!!! :D

mrsd, I agree, your stories are very interesting. You are welcome to borrow from mine when you write a book for Doody's bedtime! Heehee! Love the toad pic! He's a biggun!

Right Moi, I won't let the big bad birdie get the lil bitty one!

Thanks Frank and PolarExp and everyone. FranksAngel, when are you going to come give Maxie flying lessons? ;)

I love your birdie adventures - please keep posting them!! I feed the birds (and critters) around here and love watching them. Just this morning I had a cardinal, two doves and two bunnies all eating together under the bird feeder. Soooo cute! :)

I love your birdie stories too! I have a bit more of a challenge finding the thread here in social chat, but ya probably get more business in here. :D

You're awesome for taking care of these little tiny creatures!

we are now the parents of a rescued baby peacock with a busted leg.

and my T-shirt is splotched with poo-poo from the drive home.

FranksAngel 07-10-2008 03:23 PM

i will come teach maxie how to fly ... when i learn how to master that particular skill myself ....

kay are you posting any pics of your new family member??

CayoKay 07-10-2008 04:13 PM

Twink and Deb?

I know you'll just LOVE this little guy my friends rescued from the US Embassy !!

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/m...n/975053de.jpg

it's a Ferruginous Pygmy Owl.

he's three inches tall and I had him perched on my finger yesterday.

the pic above is of my friend Robin holding the Pygmy Owl.

Deb, pix of the baby peacock will have to wait, as my camera battery is charging.

we changed the splint on his leg, and realized that his leg ISN'T broken, it's merely dislocated... so my husband is devising a new kind of bandaging right now.
