Default PastaNMore

Yup. Just bought it.

here's what it looks like

http://pastanmore.com/

Don't know if any of you have seen the informercial (you can view it by clicking on the link).

First time I saw it I said "holy cow, I don't have to lug giant pots of water to the stove and then carry it over the sink to drain".

With my hands, this item is a godsend.

And it makes VEGGIES AND OTHER STUFF TOO!!!

And you KNOW I'll do an infomerical on this as soon as I use it, right?

So we shall see.

Just put the order in (got it on ebay and saved money too).

Cannot wait to get it.

Mel

I just watched the video on the site you provided Mel, and it sure looks good.

Let's hope that it turns out just like the ad.

I only hope it doesn't turn out like my Smart Lids did. God those things sucked big time. Got all my money back from the Rite Aid I bought it at.

But this does sound like a handy item to have when you need to make Pasta. Alan loves Pasta with Tuna Croquettes.

I DO NOT eat pasta. Maybe once in a while I'll buy the low-carb ones.

But if I don't have to carry a big pot of boiling water over to the stove, that's good enough for me.

And it comes with an expander, and a cheese grater (I'm a sucker for extra items when I buy these gadgets).

So I shall let you all know when I received this and try it out.

Can't wait.

looking forward to YOUR video Melody. Yours tell how it really works.

I am married to an italian who loves his pasta so this would really save some trouble. Plus it would be nice for traveling in our RV.

Let me know how it goes. Oh and you should have your own "as seen on TV webpage" I have watched all your gadget ones on youtube...Sue

Thanks Snoozie.

I have to ask you guys something. I was sitting with my neighborly friends (that's what i called friends that are also neighbors). Not around the corner but three blocks away. They used to live across the street from me but moved a few blocks away.

We were sitting out one night and my friend said "My daughter and I watched your silly videos. I mean, WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU DO A VIDEO ABOUT A STUPID JUICER, and she started laughing so hard, well I got embarassed. She then went on about my Pedegg and said "that was so silly, I said to myself "who cares about a stupid pedegg and a juicer", and her daughter screamed and said "wow, I actually know someone on youtube".

I tried to laugh along with her but honestly, I wasn't feeling like laughing. I just stared at her and said "why are you laughing, and she laughed even harder. She said "I just don't get it, why would you make an infomercial on these stupid products".

I then said "well, I have other friends who seem to enjoy it when I buy something and show them how it works or even IF IT WORKS".

They were laughing so hard I actually felt like a fool. These people DO NOT GO ON COMPUTERS. The only reason she saw me was I told her what to look for and she went on her daughter's laptop.

But the people who were sitting out on the stoop were not computer people, they don't go to forums, nor do they go to youtube. I got the feeling they thought I was absolutely ridiculous. I began to feel that way.

I didn't like the feeling.

I can get a joke like everybody else but that night I felt like I WAS THE JOKE!!!

Didn't like it one bit. I will never tell them if I do another video. It's not what they are into obviously.

But don't worry, I think this pasta n more thing is going to be a keeper.

Mel,

there will always be people laughing or picking on someone...

this is what I see in you(while I repeat moiself. LOL)

you have a Ponce de Leon Spirit....

You have a joyful and youthful spirit that shines in your posts. There is an innocence about you that a lot of people lose as they age.

and vive de coeur attitude...you have a lively heart attitude, a heart that will make you go on the streets and dance without care what anyone thinks...

that's just it, who CARES what they think? If you dance on the streets and it makes you feel alive, DO IT!

If they are laughing at you and teasing you, forget about them. They are not worth it. They are miserable people that rather laugh at other people cause that's HOW they live...you know what, grab their hands and make them dance with you, cause they are probably dead and miserable inside...

you keep doing what you are doing,Mel and no, not everyone will appreciate it, but don't worry about those folks...there WILL be people that WILL appreciate it. Embrace them and take them on the street to dance with you...

keep on smiling...and keep on dancing...

It came today.

I made mandarin orange slices with carrots and a dash of honey.

Alan loved it.

I then followed instructions to make pasta. (Did you all see the video of the infomercial?)

Where the lady measures the pasta by putting it through the handles.

I couldn't fit my pasta through the handles. So I said 'what the heck, I know how much pasta to make".

So I took two handfuls of pasta and put it in the big thing.

I then followed instructions and poured the water in to Line No. 4. They give you a recipe booklet and you look up spaghetti and it tells you what line to fill the water up to.

Two handfuls of spaghetti equals water up to the No. 4. So I put in the water, I put on the lid and I put it in the microwave.

18 minutes. No boiling pots of water first. Just put in pasta and water, and put in microwave.

So after it's half cooked it tells you to stir the pasta. I did as instructed.

Here's where it gets interesting.

After 18 minutes, you are supposed to take it out and drain it (through the little holes on the lid, right?)

I DIDN'T KNOW YOU HAVE TO LOCK THE LID!!! Who locks lids??

So I take the two pot holders, grab the two handles, bring it over to the sink, turn it upside down

AND ALL THE SPAGHETTI FELL INTO THE SINK!!!

I never laughed so hard in all my life.

I didn't tell Alan.

Thank god I have a clean sink. I just scooped up the spaghetti into another bowl, rinsed it out good. (it was fine, so you all can stop lauging).

I then poured in the sauce, and I'm telling you, once you know what you are doing with this thing, IT MAKES GREAT PASTA and lots of other stuff.

The recipe booklet has 50 recipes and some of them are cake CAKE!!! Can you imagine?

I will make a video as soon as I am able.

I just wanted to tell you that it made the best mandarin orange carrots I've ever seen and Alan LOVED them!!!

And the pasta comes out exactly as if you made it on the stove.

So no more pots.

JUST REMEMBER TO LOCK THE LID.

Actually it's kind of hard to snap it on, but once it's on, It's on!!!

But I'll find out the next time I make another batch of pasta.

But I will put my two fingers over the top so THIS NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN!!

Mel
