*snort*
He's got a body like ME!:D I can tell you back in the days when I used to swim every day and do 200 laps or more, I could eat anything I wanted and as much as I wanted. It doesn't work like that anymore...:( The older I get, the slower I get, and the more my car turns towards home and bed at 6:00 a.m, rather than heading towards the c-c-cold pool and the hour long lap swim! Even at home, I haven't been swimming by choice even once this year! When I have a day off, it's 60s and raining! |
They just had him on after winning his 8th gold medal. He got to hug his Mom and sisters. It was so great, so heartwarming. What a great story his life has been so far. :) God bless him. Now he's being interviewed. :)

Oh my gosh.....I watched him last night with my son and we were both just sitting there with our mouths wide open. That guy was amazing. He blew away the record!! What a team the USA had...just amazing.
I loved watching his Mom in the stands, too. |
I am amazed at what he did also.
BUT.... Just came back from breakfast at Lucky 8's News Cafe. Everybody was talking about the 7th Gold Medal (the one where he won by one 100th of a point). The guy said "he lost. I saw the video, I saw the picture in the paper, he actually lost, they gave it to him because he's an American". I said "that's not possible, it's all done by sensors, and the people who are in charge of the sensors, well they investigated it and they concluded he WON!!! The guy said "I don't believe it, the other guy won". So what do you all think? Melody |
Sounds like sour grapes to me!! :p

the touch pad and videos both proved it. it was very exciting to watch. |
yes phelps reached in at last moment the other swimmer Cavich lifted his head out of water and that was the difference in the race, they said that move slowed him down just a hair, and by golly thats what he lost by just a hair
Now the 41 yr old mother of one Torres, lost by same degree of margin .001 and she said darn i shouldnt of clipped my nails, lol I liked that answer, |
Dara was awesome...at 41 she's posted some fastest times!
Phelps is a phenom... I did hoped that when it came to team events, that they would give other swimmers equal time...because it took all four of them to get that medal... oh well, such is television politics... |
I think thats why he even interrupted the TV person talking to them by poolside and made sure it was known that without his friends and team mates none of what he went through would be possible, I felt that was a very classy thing to do, he knew the media would just talk to him and wanted to make sure they got acknowledged

MY SON WON A GOLD MEDAL!* YIPPEE!! :)
OK, my son's friend won a Gold Medal!* OK, a kid my son knew in high school won a Gold Medal in the Olympics!* :D* Dwayne Wade - U.S. Men's Basketball  Better yet, they did it with such style and grace.* I was secretly hoping they'd pose after their defeat over Spain by lifting up the corners of their mouths with their fingers - but that's just me.* I had faith in Dwayne, but I wasn't so sure about the rest of them.* They all worked beautifully together.* It was a class act for them all to place their gold medals around the neck of their coach.* :grouphug: |
