Not doing too much today. We need to go to Home Depot and buy a ladder. I bought a mirror to go over the fireplace and asked Kevin to hang it for me. It's heavy (like 40 pounds) so we have to make sure we find a stud in the wall. Don't want that baby to come falling down one night! We'll probably cut the grass today (I saw "we"...it will be Matt and Kevin ). They still have to go get my treadmill out of storage, too. So I guess everybody will be busy except me!! :p I'm getting pretty good at dishing out chores!! :o
I'm trying to keep track of Hurricane Ike. Don't know which direction it will ultimately take but I hope it doesn't head for Louisiana....I think they've had enough. Hope everyone is doing well today. :) |
morning all ... I didn't read about Jim coming home until this morning - so, glad that my prayers were favorable that he got to come home and not stay in the 'pital' ...
Renee - are those 'golden' bloomers?? I'm with Kelly ... I can get a 3-pack at Family Dollar (of Hanes or FOL) for less than $4! UPDATE: there was the HOG ride last night, but I didn't ride ... my 'ride' has been having kidney issues these last 2 weeks ... and wasn't feeling good to go ... but the first stop was at their house anyways, so I went over there and got to see everyone that went ... we'll go when he feels better! I said to Julie (his wife) that I'm afraid to ride .. because I can't lift my leg up over his bike .. she said, no problem - we'll get you on ... you just pick up your pantleg by your ankle and swing it over that way! ... I said "that's right - the 'pant-action' ... but, I'll need somebody to hold my left shoulder so I don't tip over doing it!" ... we laughed .. my right hand is giving me problems today ... just going numb and tingly on it's own ... like it has a mind of its own!! LOL ... so today will be low-key .. have a great day all!! ... and everyone over on the east coast ... hold on to your hats with Hanna ... Hey Kelly - that's some mirror ... sounds wonderful ... p.s. did anyone watch "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?' last night?? for the first time - the superintendent from Georgia schools won a MILLION $$$ ... the million dollar question was: who was the longest reigning monarch of England? .... and I looked it up as she was thinking - it was Victoria ... and that's what she answered!! was thinking of my Georgia-buds!! |
Renee I hope there is a typo error there somewhere? Holly Crap is right!
Sandy - still praying for Jim.... Vonn sorry you didn't make it on the ride - next time! Tara - good to see you posting again Frank sorry you didn't sleep hope you get a chance to rest today! not sure what is going to happen today..... cloudy and very muggy today waiting to see what Hannah is bringing tomorrow. Please keep Girlie Girl and her DBF in your thoughts and prayers today. She is doing a 3 day walk for MS (I have posted on the Stumble Inn site updating on her) She started yesterday and walked 20 miles. Her legs were bothering her last night as she fell into bed. |
Frank, sorry you had a rough night last night.
Vonn, sorry to here you didn't get a chance to ride yesterday. Hope your friend feels better soon. Sandy, you and Jim are in my prayers. Char, Glad you made it home. Hope you get rested up. Weave, Glad DS is doing better. Kelly, That is one big mirror. Hope they can find a stud on the wall that will support it. I'm not a big one for having lots of mirrors in the house, but that's a long weird story, LOL :D Hope it looks great once it's up. ~~~~~~ Trying to wake up with my usual morning cup 'o joe. We had a small power outage last night due to the storms, so I'm a little slow getting started this morning. But we do have plans to go out later. We want to check out a three wheeled scooter that looks pretty cool. It's called a Piaggio MP3. Has the stability of a trike, but turns corners like a regular scooter/motocycle. Could be interesting. Hope everyone has a great day today. :grouphug::grouphug: |
Hi everyone! Happy Saturday! Well, I made it through week 2 of school, but I am exhausted. Hopefully, it will get better now. The first two weeks are full of meetings and social events that you are expected to attend. I was at a department picnic last night for about 4 hours. the rain stopped yesterday morning, and the weather was great!!! I had to wear a light jacket. Things should settle down now at school (hopefully).
My classes are going well. My students in my honors class seem to be more attentive to the news now, and a few are asking where they should go to register to vote here at school. We are still trying to work out the other situation. Campus security is not involved at this point. If anyone was wondering, I deleted the other posts because I felt I may have revealed too much private information about myself and the situation. I do not plan to discuss it on this thread anymore. I have laundry to do today, bills, and I need to run to the store. Hope you all have a good weekend. |

I call that my "Stun Mode" (as in, "Set phasers on stun!") because I'm just sitting there, like, all phased out, and stunned, lol! we had house-guests, so there was cleaning to do, all yesterday morning, and preparing a big meal (my hubby made a very fancy Dodine) and then, it was scavenging-at-the-market day, and feeding chores, and no time for a nap at all... then, giving my guests a full tour of our six acres, and a big photography session. our visitor was the gentleman who took those GORGEOUS hummingbird pictures I posted here a while back, he's a very talented photographer... so, I can't WAIT to see the photos. Bill took pix of the turkeys (Bishop and Hadassah), the goats (Leeloo, Lilah, Alia, Paul, and Leto), the SEA of ducklings, feeding time at the zoo, our house, and pond, chickens, geese, rabbits, guinea pigs, and their babies, and Becky Bacon. then, a nice dinner party last night, music, laughter, stories, and several beers were involved in the evening, LOL !! then, market again this morning, and feeding my critters, and now, I'm just sitting here, and the ONLY thing I can move is my fingers, to type !! :D congrats on the grades Yabbit, and get yourself some SERIOUS rest, girl, and I promise I will too. Weave, sorry to hear of your troubles, I hope this bug is just aa small one... my son had menningitis bck in 1984, it was NO fun... NaeNae, in the jungle, no spandex, only cotton, for breathability... and it takes a LOT of cotton balls to spin panties for me... :D Vonn, mounting and balance issues, bad mix, LOL !! hope you get that ride soon, honey! Frank, take a NAP, dude !! San, keep us posted on Jim's condition,... |
