I did. The one I'm thinking of didn't come up in that search. If you like, I'll post it or if you prefer, send to you privately.

Have fun with school work, gj! And BTW, you should get EXTRA donuts for being the 100th post in this thread!

I agree, some vote only on Abortion. Some will choose Sara because of her stand on that alone. McCain is counting on it.

My top concerns are the economy and the war. Can't wait to hear both parties respond to these issues in debate.

All I'm saying is Sara would do a fine job as VP. She's a great Gov. Whatever happens, It's all good. I would be tickled pink to see it happen for her...if not now, someday. I'm standing up for poor Sara who has critics who seek to destroy her for simply being a strong, intelligent woman. She's committed no crime. (I'm talking about some of the media...not this board)

Peace on Earth and Good Will to Man
I am glad you clarified that!

I think a lot of people are concerned about the economy. I know I am, even more so since my husband retired and lost a huge chunk of his retirement in the airline bankruptcy debacle.

No one has a magic wand and no one has a magic answer yet. My other concern is health care and believe me, I've not heard anything yet that has made me stand up and take notice.

Here's a little tidbit :

This issue came up some time back when there was a movement to put California's Gov on the Presidential track but b/c he was not born in the US that's not possible. So, there was a small movement to pass an amendment to change the requirement that the President of the US not be born in the US. We all know that fizzled.

Well, someone did some investigating and found that Obama was born in Hawai'i (The thought was it wasn't a state yet. Hawai'i became a state in '59, Obama was born in '61. Someone got their facts wrong!) Then it was discovered that McCain was born in the Canal Zone, which, as we all know, is not and never has been a US State.

Since McCain was born in a Naval hospital, which is leased ground, not owned by the US, he was technically born in the Canal Zone. The law was changed since he was born to allow the birth certificates of children born to military personnel born in military hospitals to reflect that they are US Citizens.

Except for the fact that the law was passed and made retroactive, McCain might not have been a US born, therefore not eligible to run for the office of US President. And this whole thread would be moot!

Interesting little tidbits you find when you least expect them!

Thanks for the link Chemar.

Not sure why you have to sit on your hands, I just made a simple comment about a birth place issue that became a non-issue.

Hmmm....... don't understand why you couldn't participate in the thread like that. You're a person too with problems of her own and opinions as well.

now dont you go tempting me, Gazelle

I would honestly just not like for anyone to ever feel I was moderating these threads from political bias so best I not enter too deeply into these discussions

I can say tho that I did find the CNN documentary on the lesser known details about the 2 candidates fascinating
