Personally, I think McCain had better choices. Please don't jump on me anyone. She's a little less than 2 yr GOV, has a sweet 4mo w/Downs and CNN is spouting that she may not have the time, experience to travel and represent the Pres. Also, big concern is McC's health and age. *72 today* I don't consider that old, but many will.
Would Sarah Palin have the experience to run our country if indeed she had to? Regardless of her child's health issues, a new baby needs alot of attn from their Momma. She does have a total of 5 children ranging in age. I know that my children needed me alot when they were babies, and I had a child w/severe health issues. As far as picking a woman as a running mate.... AYUP, I think it's great. Not taking sides, just quoting the media. I do kind of pity her going up against Joe Biden in the VP debate coming up. (Oct, I think) Just reporting what CNN said. I think it's going to get interesting. So, please again~ not meant to ruffle any feathers here, just commenting.

As for Clinton's remarks, they're open to interpretation -- personally, I see them as someone having the desire to affect positive change in the world. It's no different than Obama or McCain and plenty of Presidential candidates and worldwide heroes who have come before them. I know a little bit about Palin and really question the choice but perhaps I'll change my mind as I learn more and see her in action. But right now I'm thinking that McCain just gave Obama a leg up, precisely for the reasons that you said -- should something happen to McCain. Last edited by Chemar; 08-29-2008 at 12:57 PM. He picked someone who is NOT a multi-millionaire, NOT a special interests person, NOT a career politician, with a ton of baggage. She does not even have an advance degree....I love it....

And also in terms of the experience issue, remember that the Republicans have been critical of Obama's limited experience. That is just one of the reasons that I find McCain's choice is odd.

![]() I do like the idea that she's not influenced by special interests. I know that she's done some good as far as energy conservation.... I just wonder if it's that or just the fact that she's a woman? After this weekend, as a woman, I was feeling positive that eventually within the next decade or so, we'd see a woman president...so...I'm conflicted over the whole McCain VP choice... Be curious to watch the next 67? days!!!

Just listened to her speech and first impression is a good one.
It will be interesting to learn of her political past and what decisions she has made. Her family was so sweet standing there. I like that in this election year we see the family side of the candidates. I loved seeing Obama's little girl dancing around the stage. Now to see a mom of 5 taking the stage, well I think it is a good thing. Kind of makes them more real ya know. ...Sue
