Am I the VOTER that needs to be convinced? YES!

Post-DNC, there wasn't as much rage and anger as post Palin-Speech! WHY??? Makes me wonder!
Well, I can send you plenty of similar links that don't have the word "dumbest", LOL, but it matters not. And you are absolutely right. It's all ultimately opinion but hopefully, one that's formed by doing research from a variety of sources. It takes a while to dig for what we each believe is the truth when we're being spoon fed from all sides. I, too, take the approach of a voter who needs to be convinced.

I could hear you thinking, Gladys! That's why I told you I appreciated your thoughts.

"Her" speech? She didn't write it and most of it was written before she was chosen for the ticket. This is not to take anything away from her -- she delivered it wonderfully but she didn't win over everyone. Including all Alaskans.
Sarah had an 80% approval rating in Alaska BEFORE the nomination, I suspect it has only grown since then. There will always be those who don't care for her. Usually the Liberal Media, those she took down in corruption cases and environmentalists/lobbiests.

I think the Dem's veiw that she didn't write her own speech is laughable. None of them wrote their own speech fully, not even Obama.

I like Joe Biden. He has my vote for VP. He has foreign affairs experience and when interviewed, he seems to have a good handle on information.
Kind of like 9/11 huh? Who was the leader in that? Gulianni. Minimizing this Govenor is the planned attack. It won't wash. States most certainly deal with their neighbors, whether it be state to state or state to country. There are relations and until we hear her speak on it, it's best to wait and see. They keep raising the bar for Sarah and she will be leaping over it. I know my Govenor and like John said last night, she won't sit down.

Edit: From Wizbang.com

Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. It's on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units.
As governor of Alaska, Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Biden's.

She's also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security's counterterrorism plans.

Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country's defense. Given Alaska's proximity to Russia, she may have security clearances we don't even know about.

According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in February, but nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to keeping secrets.

She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is.

And I'm going to have to stop reading this thread because I don't like to hear the inuendos about each party.

But before I stop reading, I'm going to throw some in myself.

I am a democrat.
I am not grasping for straws.

And the only thing I am running in fear of is another 4 years of republicans in office.

(If all members in NT are supposed to follow the 'rules' and be respectful or suffer the consequences and be banned or whatever!, then I think ALL members should, period.)

Edited because one of the posts I was referring to was edited which mentioned democrats grasping for straws and running in fear.
NEITHER of which I am doing.

Thanks Doody . I'm a Dem too. Through and through. I don't expect to get anything more than personal attacks from the party that has nearly ruined our country in the past 8 years. It's par for the course and more of the usual stuff and not much about the real issues facing our dwindling middle class from the GOP candidate and vp. All of this is just my opinion and I will say no more. I'm not trying to offend anyone in any way. Which is more than I can say for some others (not necessarily NT members). It's very disheartening. Bye .

Hey Joelle!
Good to see you...

It really is all about perception you know?

I think your post balanced the thread. I thought for a minute I couldn't write the word Dem or GOP so I edited my post, but I can see now that it's not the choice of words, but the side one is on LOL!

Best to you and prayers still flowing...
J
