I'm listening to Bing Crosby sing White Christmas....I could listen to him all day. Plus, it's the album my parents used to play every Christmas. Makes me feel like I'm back in the old living room sitting on the floor in front of Dad's console stereo. I also like the Hawaiian Christmas song....Mele Kalikimaka. My Mom used to act like she was dancing the Hula every time that song came on. We thought that was the funniest thing!
Whats your favorite Christmas song?

Those are all nice. Brings me back to when I was a kid. But I still get twitchy if I hear Elvis's Christmas. Yikes.
I am still a fan of *Sing along with Mitch* (Mitch Miller). My kids think he looks like Satan lol. My #1 all time fave is Mel Blanc as Porky Pig singing Blue Christmas. First time I heard that I was driving. I had to pull over.

We have a bunch of vinyl that we play when we decorate the tree...Mills Brothers (reminds me of my mom), organ music playing carols, and a record I thought was Nat King Cole singing xmas songs...until one of the kids put the record on and laughed, yelling, "Mom, that's somebody doing Nat King Cole doing xmas songs!!!" the kids thought that was really funny, and typical of their old mom...
On xmas morning, when we open gifts, we put some cds of old timers like Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Mel "the velvet throat" Torme, etc, on. And of course I love Burl Ives singing the songs in the cartoon Rudolph.

Adeste Fideles... is my favorite carol, I just like the mysterious Latin:
Adeste fideles Laeti triumphantes Venite, venite in Bethlehem Natum videte Regem Angelorum second favorite is O Holy Night, it's just so achingly beautiful, I get shivery little goose bumps when the music swells to the chorus: Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices! O night divine, O night when Christ was born! O night, O holy night, O night divine!

I cannot keep from crying when I hear this song. It's so beautiful.....and so perfectly describes why we celebrate Christmas. I think too many people have forgotten the reason for the season. I wish people celebrated "Christmas".....not just getting and giving gifts.
