American Indians for McCain Coalition debuts at GOP convention

''John McCain has served on the Indian Affairs Committee since the first day he joined the U.S. Senate 22 years ago, twice serving as its chairman,'' said Campbell, himself a former chairman of the committee in a release. ''He serves there not because he has to, but because he chooses to. He doesn't need to be educated on tribal issues, he has been working hard on behalf of Native people for a long time. John McCain is a man of honor and he will be a great President for Indian country, and all Americans.''

Crazy

I need to post a reminder again on what DocJohn has said about political posts

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/post357317-2.html

Quote:
But let's arise above the level of calling one another's candidates names or making snide innuendos about their background based upon rumor or gossip. While such things have a rich history in U.S. politics dating back even before our gaining our independence, they seem a little out of place in discussions amongst mature adults in a neurological support forum, no?
I realize that the links provided do pertain to information that is in the public record and have been widely reported by the news media, but the member commentary related to those links is IMO not in keeping with the guidelines Doc has set for LIMITED political discussion here

I would appreciate some self editing

thanks

Hi guys,

Seriously folks this is getting out of hand again. And its not even productive, informative or educational, its just retaliatory against each other's candidate.

Can I remind you all that the name of the forum is Social Chat not Political Chat or Candidate Bash Chat.

And what purpose does this bashing each others candidates serve? Other than to eventually ruin it for those that actually want to discuss the actual merits of a topic in this election. Or drive people from a forum where they might come to hang out and socialize like here in "Social Chat."

Is it really that important that everyone only believe what you believe? Vote how you vote? Is it really necessary to ridicule people? And seriously do any of you really know the truth about any of these candidates? Or what is in their closets? Do you really believe they are one dimensional - either all good or all bad? And who gives you the right to judge them? And do you actually believe everything that is written or spun or slanted about these candidates?

Think of it like television. If you dont like what is on change the channel. Go read in another forum. Or least count to 100 and think before you reply to a political post about what your purpose is in replying? And then if you must reply do it with respect and dignity and keep on topic about the merits of a situation or discussion.

Chemar has asked, nicely I might add, that we keep the commentary on topic and that we rise above name calling and snide innuendos about each other's candidate.

Is it really that hard?... to remain civil and not sink to the level of the mud slinging in the real campaign or the journalists digging up the dirt and sensationalizing stuff.

Do we really need to moderate you to the point of babysitting or do you think you can all behave like proper adults that respect each other and everyone's right to have an opinion without having to crush it?
