yeah, that's going to happen...
but there is one thing that Paulsen(Paulson?) said today that is worth of interest after the bill failed... he stated that he and others wanted to see how the market would react. Meaning that if the market would've gone back to just 100 below, then they can just say, "see, the market can sustain." I think some of them wanted to see if it would've happen. And there IS a good thing to this, believe it or not, that is that they'll tweak the plan...hopefully, for the better... it's a holding game, it sucks... I think right now,we all should tell each other to hold on, and not to give in to the fear (that's what THEY want, they want to buy you out pennies on the dollar) and we need to hold and conserve and wait... I know it's hard...and that's just my opinion...as I am sure somebody out there will disagree and tell everybody to get out now... but my suggestion is remember this, we ARE the market....the consumers.. we DO have a voice... it's harsh, it's hard...I just wanted to lent a voice of trying to stay calm... ((((((())))))) PS, I did lose a bunch of money today...LOL da wife isn't happy(but she trusts me and is supportive, whew)...but, with that said, I am still going to stay calm...*chewing nails... |

The Australian market opened half an hour ago, with a fall of 5.5% so far in reaction to the Wall St drop.
I lost 6.0% on investments over the past 2 months, now a further drop of 5.5% sees my nest egg fast dwindling away. Normally I wouldn't be overly concerned as I believe that the market will recover, but as I'm near to retirement age I don't really have the luxury of sitting back for 10years while that recovery occurs. Like everyone else, all I can do is wait and see what happens, but it is disconcerting watching one's retirement funds simply fade away.

This whole situation scares the daylights out of me. Even though I am not that close to retirement age I do not have money to play with. What little I have is all I have with no hopes of ever making more (SSDI has taken care of that! ). Now I really know what they mean by "fixed income".
I won't pretend to know everything about what is going on but I do know that I don't trust the government to look out after my best interests anymore. And I do not believe that this group is taking a "two day holiday" before reconveining to try and agree on a bailout bill. I believe they are meeting somewhere as we speak to try and come to an agreement without the media constantly making speculations as to what's going on. Just my opinion. But to say that I am scared and concerned is an understatement.
