i agree that this man is a danger to society...and i feel for the victims very MUCH...but what brings a person to that is my point? and sorry but i personally cannot gloat over it all. i appreciate that the victims of his crimes cannot feel anything for him other than hatred but...i'm sorry but...as a victim myself...i didn't take this thread as relief but as a gloat...my apologies for sticking my nose in where it doesn't belong! Genuine Peace and Love to you all, roz

Roz, I honestly don't think anyone was gloating over the fact that he got what he deserved.....it was more like a sigh of relief that justice was finally served. And as far as you sticking your nose where it doesn't belong.....well, that's just not true. This forum is for everyone...whether we agree with each other or not.....and you have as much right to be here and express your opinion as everyone else does.

He is finally where he belongs, I will not feel sorry for the likes of him, he made his bed now he can sleep in it, I am not his keeper, I didn't kill my ex cause I couldn't possess her. sorry but gloat or not he belongs there, MY concern is, is this enough for the families of Nicole and Ronald to feel relief or some sense of justification, they deserve closure not oj,
sorry not to be sharp about this but I turned the other cheek when he insulted law abiding people with showing the world you got enough money you can kill someone and get away with it, if god wants to embrace oj so be it, I shall not, for him or the likes of him sorry this has struck a wrong note with me, feel sorry for him never. he is a perfect example of issues that are wrong today, if you got enough cash, then you can get away with anything. Sorry Roz I am not lashing out at you but rather OJ and what he did and how the whole case was handled, the whole thing was a joke here in the states, was a blatant abuse of money and it was a farce, and it was a farce on the behalf of the police too, storing blood in a vehicle trunk all weekend long ? stuff like that didnt help either made one suspect did they actually blotch things up on accident or ? so as you can see its still a sour grape in many of our eyes Roz if I came off too harsh sorry

I prayed for the victims and those who were affected by him too. They are the ones suffering and outwardly so. While he was writing books, smirking and playing golf, they were crying, grieving and questioning their loved ones death. His children were affected, his family, friends and anyone personally involved in the whole thing. Those who work to make a living now have to worry about people like him coming after them for something they have done legally. I don't need to justify my religious beliefs but I do believe in an eye for an eye and that we are taught to be law abiding people. Those who choose to do otherwise get what is coming to them. I don't think this is payback. I think it is karma and had nothing to with his past. I think he just didn't get away this time. Making jokes about him in jail was funny to me. I wont deny that and wont apologize for it. He was a football player so the jokes were in line with that. Heck, I have a rare set of football cards of him from his first days as a football player to the trial of Nicole's murder and his jail picture. They will be worth a lot of money some day. That's just how we as collectors think. It's not a bad thing, it's how a living is made. Maybe being in jail and going through that will wake him up. But as we all know, being in jail as a high profile person will get him special privilege so he wont be harmed. I do appreciate your post and this is not a bash on you. I just wanted to explain my reason for my comments.

Now that OJ is actually doing time/pennence for his sins, he will be able to ask and receive forgiveness....I hope so for his own soul's sake.
Making light of horribly sad things is a great protection mechanism. It's normal.. I am certainly not gloating....I have nothing to gain from OJ';s incarceration, except, maybe, a little peace of mind. He has been the one gloating, IMHO!..

We humans all enjoy savoring a (perceived) victory, it's how we're made, and I believe we were made by design.
Vengeance and justice belong to God and it is eternal. I think God has just begun the first phase for O.J. I pray for all sinners, especially because I am one. Do I pity O.J.? No way.

He was convicted of an armed robbery that happened on Sept. 13 and was found guilty on the 13th anniversary of his Los Angeles murder acquittal by a jury that deliberated for 13 hours after a 13-day trial.
These dates did get my attention. More than likely, they got the attention of the Simpson family and the Goldman family as well. Perhaps in some small way it gave them a little solace. Maybe it is an indication that a Higher Power is watching. I agree, these families could use our prayers...as their pain and loss are great and grossly unfair. I too think this conviction is Karma. The fact that OJ particpated in these recent crimes (there were also reports of suspected domestic abuse with his live in girlfriend) shows that he continued to have dangerous anger management and entitlement issues. The fact that he wasn't put in jail earlier is basically a crime against society. Although I would still want him to serve a complete sentence and I agree with Mrs. D, the likelihood that he would have a true conversion experience in jail is very low, those of faith, might want to pray for that to happen. In my opinion, it would be a modern day miralce...I just don't believe this man has it in him... |

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask Roz how much media coverage was there of the first OJ trial then this one? I think that the way we are looking at this trial is that he is finally going to have to step down from his golden platform that many people put sport stars on.
In the first trial when he was laying his head on his lawyers shoulder thanking the jury...well it really made me sick. Then with this trial he walked the streets around here like he was a hero or big time celebrity. Keep in mind I live in Vegas so he was on the news quite a bit. He was cocky and arrogant even in handcuffs at the beginning of the trial. During his trial my family was also going through a sentencing trial for the punk who murdered my nephew. Going to the courthouse and trying to get in was unreal. I am glad this is over because trust me the freaks did come out for this. I am so tired of his arrogance and I am glad he is going to pay with losing his freedom. I question whether all of the convictions will stick because our judicial system is flawed. Saw that firsthand going through the court system during my nephews killers pretrial fiasco. I left the court room shaking my head at the revolving door system we have. OJ will be a hero in prison. Thugs are impressed with the type of guy he is. He will probably be separated from most and hopefully this will give him time to rethink his life. My hubby has a saying..."if ya play with poop (being nice here) you will get some on you" Oj is swimming in it. ...Sue

Just to set things straight, i think this man got what he deserved too...he obviously got the impression after his first trial that he could get away with anything due to having money and fame...and i don't like that any more than anyone else. I guess i just misunderstood everyone's humorous attitude, which i genuinely apologize for...like us Brits use humor to get thru bad stuff, guess i should have understood that's all that's going on here too. Peace and Love, roz
