hi all ...
had a nice visit with my friends from the Appleton area ... took alot outta me ... I was in bed around 8, and took 3 benadryl to sleep ... I'm trying to stay positive and strong ... considering finding a job - having no income really takes it's toll .. but I don't have the energy to go to a job or work all day ... :hissyfit: sorry - running out of survival options ... where's that Prince Charming and his bag of gold?? |
I finished the sweater, I will try to take a pic later and post it. I have my bag all ready to go with next one to start tomorrow while at the hospital.
Weekend Plans! I am meeting Riverwild on Saturday to spend the afternoon with her. We are going to "Fort Knox" a state park and to the Bridge Tower. It is one of the tallest towers in the US on a bridge. We have been trying to do this for a year now! Have a great afternoon everyone! |
Have fun with RW Char!!!! Tell her we all said Hi!
|
Thanks I will....she is such a riot to be with! I will be sore from laughing I am sure on Sunday! :D
|
Char ... be sure to take your camera and take LOTS of pics ... say Howdie to RW from us ... (she was my Christmas Pal on the exchange ... and I'm still enjoying the socks she sent!)
my apologies .. my rant is over about feeling sorry for myself ... going to work on stuff for the kids with quilts today ... and get my mind off of me! all will work out ... I'm okay ... yep, I'm okay!! |

the shelter is for those high hurricane winds, and there's stalls with hooks for leashes (for the goats and pig), shelves (for the bunnies and guinea pigs' cages). and brooder areas for the baby chicks and ducklings, with heat lamps, and bedding. it'll be like a jigsaw puzzle fitting everyone in, but the worst part of the storm only lasts about 10 or 12 hours, so they won't be cooped up long. we did a "moving" drill, to time getting everyone in, and it takes about an hour... but we MAY need neighbors' help with Becky Bacon, she's over 300 lbs now, pregnant and sorta recalcitrant about being moved. BUT, we have BRIBES (molasses and coconut treats) to assist in the process... so we think we can handle it pretty well. we have lots of hay and feed, and a concrete floor with a center drain for hosing, and ventilation openings, and fans for cooling... so, there's safety for at least 100 animals. the ducks and geese will find their own shelter, they're native to this area, and know what to do... we expect more ferry and bridge closures at the very least... Quote:

BRIBES????
well, Kay - you could probably move me with the molasses (mmmm, molasses cookies!) .. .but you can KEEP the coconut ... LOL how about some apples?? or is that only after the 'spit' effect (i.e.:cooked) |

:D today's Darwin Farm project is another batch of this: http://cannabis.com/faqs/cannabis_re...ipe/index.html it's REALLY difficult to find unsalted butter here in the jungle, but we managed to locate a couple of lbs for the cookery. it's simmering now, and the house smells heavenly! :D:p:D don't stress, my dear, with calm fortitude and your wicked sense of humour, you WILL come through with flying colors. :grouphug::hug::grouphug: |

naw, Vonny, apples don't grow here, and the imported ones are VERY costly, and hard to get... but having pitayas, sapotes, mameys, watermelons, plantains, papayas, mangos, and pineapples always available makes up for the lack of apples, pears, apricots, peaches, grapes, and berries... mostly. |

 I haven't responded to you because my messy divorce was 24 years ago, and I'm finally over it enough to have recently remarried. so the perils and pitfalls and pain are but a faint horrible memory for me, and I'm now in the honeymoon stage with my new husband, and hopefully a LOT older and wiser this time. I hope this travail ends for you soon, and a calm resolution happens, so you can get on to the healing part... my heart goes out to you during this painful time, and remember to spend time alone, pampering yourself, and focusing on getting yourself extricated with minimum turmoil for the children and you. take long warm bubblebaths, burn incense, potpouri, candles, play soft music, read a positive book, whatever it takes to calm yourself, and evaporate the resentments and anger. :grouphug::hug::grouphug: every little bit helps, even if it doesn't SEEM to be working, it will lower your stress levels, and help you be centered.:grouphug::hug: |
