How much is it per bar? Can you buy it pre-grated?

Thanks! :)

Frank - Some of those Hispanic things are awesome! I read somewhere that you can use any soap you want and mix it in with the washing soda and borax. I did buy the borax but they were out of washing soda so I will have to wait. In the meantime, I bought A&H's powdered detergent and am going to mix the borax in with it. The powder cost about $5.00 and you get 45 loads with it. So it was pretty inexpensive to buy and by mixing in the borax I won't need to use as much of the detergent.;)

Frank - I looked up ZOTE soap to see if you can purchase it online. I saw prices ranging from $0.66 to more than $1.00. However, I came across this and busted up laughing.

Apparently, you can also use ZOTE as catfish bait. I am going to have to remember that as our fishing season will be starting soon.;)

I am too lazy to go back through all these posts and see if someone else mentioned it (who knows, maybe me):

When the Stouffer's frozen entrees go on sale for $2 each, we stock up on the 18 oz. packages of lasagna instead of the little dinners. They make both cheese and meat (that I know of).

When we want an easy cheap lunch for the two of us, I microwave a package (it's about two cups in a package, so two servings) and open a can of vegetables or make a salad.

We like their little frozen dinners, too, but the lasagna makes basically TWO meals for the $2, because we usually add veggies to the others also.

Hope this makes sense.

Here is a great tip....saves time cleaning and uses what we have as well! Lots of us have the type of cupboards that have a space above them that we put various things on...we have hubbys collection of beer trays from around the world and some collector plates. Always such a drag to clean...kitchen....greasy dust...and of course wiping the top of the cupboards is :eek:yucky!! My Aunt told me today that to lighten the load of cleaning she lines the top of the cupboards with newspaper!!!! I cannot believe I never thought of it. She just rolls it up to change it...ta-dah!!! We still need to wash the "things" that are up there but saves time for sure!!

I never thought to mention that so I am glad you did. We have been doing this for years and I told my neighbors so they are doing the same thing.

Also; we all have pot shelves here and do the same with them. No one sees the papers only the pottery and knick knacks on the shelves.
