Hey, ya'll.....I'm not ignoring you I'm just not feeling well. I think it's the flu but I have some Amoxicillin to take so hopefully that will work. I'm reading....just don't feel much like posting. Hope everyone has a good weekend.
Wiz, I hope everything is okay with Rocky.

I hope you'll feel better soon Kelly, maybe you picked up some bacteria somewhere and the amoxicillin will help. I took Rocky in to see his vet. This guy is really good, we've been going to him for over 20 years now. He's explaining cystitis to me as he holds Rocky and massages his bladder. The tech held a collection dish under him. He actually got a urine sample and it was pink. They cultured it and then explained all the results to me. He has something called idiopathic cystitis. Bladder/urinary inflammation with no known cause. He wants me to push water on him, add it to his dry food, and get him a fountain water dish. The other vet there has done this and it completely cured the problem. There were no crystals or signs of bacteria in the sample so that's how he knew it was this type. If this doesn't work then we'll try the diet next. If it turns into a blockage there are more things that can cause it and it can be an emergency. They can die within hours. So I need to watch him, push the water, measure his output and keep extra litter boxes around the house. He's still playing hard and eating well, just has the straining problem, the poor baby.

Morning all. Sitting here watching the snow and wind blow everything away. I wont snow blow till tomorrow. Other than that just online shopping and stuff. Maybe throw a load of laundry in.
Frank, do you have pain meds? How did you throw your back out in bed? Huh? Huh? lol Wiz, been there done that with my kitties too. I hope the treatment helps. If your baby doesn't drink enough, ask the vet for a needle and IV bag. It's really easy to do at home and is more cost effective. All you do if lift his back skin under the neck and slide the needle in. Most cats are good about it since it doesn't hurt too much. One way to tel if your cats are dehydrated is to pull up their back skin under the neck and pinch gently. If the skin falls back quickly they are fine. If it sticks up, they are dehydrated. Deb, Kitty, Sarah hope you all get to feeling better soon physically and emotionally. Tammy, glad you got the furniture moved. What ornament are you going for? Must be a bird eh? lol Everyone have a great day and stay warm and safe.
