Hi Jo,

I have never done any jewellery making but one of my mums friends does it all of the time and finds it really relaxing. She makes lovely earrings and things for us and she sells them sometimes also.

I love Card Making and Scrapbooking. I find it really relaxing and nice to look at lots of pictures and then put them together into a scrapbook. It's really nice and brings back lots of good memories of me and my family on vacations etc. There's quite a lot of craft stores near us that sell things like embellishments for card making that are really cheap but good quality. When I get the chance, I make a big bundle of cards and sell them and try and raise money for charity or for something that I need such as a wheelchair etc.

Speaking of craftrooms, I have turned the spare bedroom into a craft room lol. My mum gets a bit fed up of it because I leave cards and stickers all over the place lol! ]

I hope you find something that you enjoy!!

Jo,

I've ordered from this site:

http://www.herrschners.com/

DM 11-10-2008 08:25 PM

Thank you for that site, Bobbi.

I make my own greeting cards (rubber stamping) and I do a little jewelry making. I've only made earrings so far. Lately, I lack motivation to do much of anything, but the rubber stamping is great therapy for me. I use my guest room for my supplies. A bureau w/lots of shallow drawers works great for my supplies.

Anne~ I would love to see your pics when you have the time.

Does anyone do beading, jewelry making or that sort of thing?
know of any good websites for supplies - preferably discounted/inexpensive.

Maybe I'll do some quilt type wall hangings, I have a sewing machine and know how to do that.

I do have my water color art supplies, but with our small house I have to get it out when I want to paint and put it away after.:(
I need an office/craft room!! LOL

Other ideas??
or what do you like to do or wish you could do?

i haven't painted much since we moved. yep, same here, have to put everything away. i lose my inspiration.

my bears have taken over. i refused to put all that away. i do have a teeny area to keep my sewing machine set up. good thing i sew standing up.

but no crafting for me for awhile. :Sob::Sob::Sob::Sob: too painful and i can't do it one handed.

My daughter makes jewelry but I don't have the knack. :Sob:

The next thing I'd like to tackle is making my own greeting cards. Every now and then I get a hand made one from a friend, and it makes me more determined to learn how to do it myself. I've even bought "hand made cards" from the local craft stores to send.

OK then! When I get a little time, I'll start scanning them. It's probably best if I make a new album in my profile pictures..... but don't look yet as there's too much going on right now for me to scan them for a while. I'll let you know..:D

Well I don't have a craft type hobby like you both do, but I have decorated some really beautiful cakes in the past.

I don't do it now, but I've decorated wedding cakes, birthday cakes ... christening cakes ..... cakes for any occssion really.

I started with a Bert and Ernie (Sesame Street) birthday cake for my 2 year old daughter, and just went from there.

I eventually went to classes and learnt how to do the more difficult things and I loved it when I was doing my cakes. Unfortunately MS seems to have put an end to that now. :(

I love cake decorating! My mom took classes but gave me all her stuff. Then I worked in a bakery and learned a few tricks. I used to make all my kids's cakes and goofy ones for holidays.

I made Sonic the Hedgehog, Littlest Pet shop, My Little Pony, TMNT, Yin/yang and Dora the Explorer for my grandaughter. She saw that and screamed "Dora happy birfday cake!" She didn't even want her gifts lol.

Anne - I *make* my own cards... with Hallmark software on my PC.

;)

This'll be the first year I do Christmas cards that way though. It was always Bday and all that.

That sounds excellent Brain.

Seems like we have a couple of things in common then! :D

Well, by now you know MY NEW HOBBY.

Growing sprouts in my kitchen.

It's been over 2 days, they are sprouting and the instructions on the sprouting websites, say to put them in some sunlight to get the clorophyl to start going. And they will turn green.

I'll believe this when I see it.

I like to decorate cakes & I took lessons. I put together a cake for my son's B-day that was shaped like a plane, my DB's wedding cake (nothing elaberate) & a couple cakes for my DH to take to work. For work I 1st made a lady in a skirt (the skirt was the cake). The other one was a guy (some have read this before), I used coconut on the chest & a twinky for (you know). After I made it we went to bed then when I got up & looked at it  the twinky was too big. I was embarrassed to have my DH take it to work but ended up letting him. I shoulda cut the Twinky or used a "lady finger".

DM, I like to rubber stamp too. I just finished making my Christmas cards.

Melody .. how are your sprouts sprouting??
