Remember when you had to get up to change the channel....or answer the telephone?

Remember when the only way to get a pizza parlor pizza was to actually leave the house and "go" to the pizza parlor?

remember going to the local RX to test your TV tubes and replace them, and keep your tv going on your own

remember searching for the roller skate key

remember full service stations oil water pressure and windows included, who cared if the guy pumping it had a lit cigarette

remember penny candy stores, where a quarter took care of all of your friends and you

remember returning coke and pepsi bottles to get another baseball

remember phone numbers as .......avon3-4322

remember neil armstrong stepping on the moon I still get goose bumps

remember roller rinks and drive in movies, we still have one of each near by

You know I can still remember my telephone number from childhood!! We didn't have to use the area code like we do now. My parents had that same number for over 30 years.

And I remember going to the local Rx to test the TV's tubes!! Ours had a grill and we'd always get a cheeseburger there.....they made the best cheeseburgers!!

Penny candy....remember the wax lips and bubble gum cigarettes!! We thought we were so cool walking around with those things! I remember candy seemed to taste better back then....what happened?

I remember when McDonald's opened it's first restaurant here. It was a walk-up with bench seats attached to the building so you could sit outside.

ours had a soda shoppe and my dad would let get my chocolate malt every time, as long as i said naught about the charelston chews he would buy

I remember my dad asking if the tv looked ok and of course mom and dads definition of ok were opposites, so he finally bought a mirror for tv repairs and gave up on moms definition of ok

at my friends house and here people who knows where!!

Remember when your Mom never got upset if your friends Mom punished you.....you deserved it and she knew it! Now.....nobody wants to take charge because they're afraid of lawsuits.

Remember when you'd leave the house in the morning and not come home till after dark....filthy feet and all....and nobody was freaking out about you being abducted or worse.

I remember party lines!!! We had one.....and we'd get into such trouble if Mom caught us listening in. I wonder if she ever did when we weren't home?

What a great idea kiddo!!

"Remember whens" are always a fun topic of conversation.

I remember cherry cokes, clove gum, knock-knock jokes, spit curls, wearing big brush rollers under our scarves and teasing our hair to new heights!

Piling into the car and all of us handing over a quarter to fill the gas tank so we could drive around the square over and over on Saturday nights!!

Hit Parade, Name That Tune, Dinah Shore, Queen For A Day but I was just an infant then you know....

...loading into the trunk and sneaking into the drive-in theater?

...the soda fountain at Sears?

...when 20 year olds were "old" in your eyes?

...saying sir and ma'am to adults?

...when the newspaper had squiggles and lines before, you could read

What kinds of "remember when" do you remember?

We still pick up our own pizza...and we never get food delivered. Part of this is because we are hard to find, but part is because I don't want strangers here.

We also get up to answer the phone. (sometimes)
We do not lock anything up North.

Remember when you could reach your doctor? (if you get to talk to your doctor in the flesh on the phone now, it is a rare event.)
