I love all those songs that have already been mentioned. They bring back some lovely memories....
Christmas here in Australia is smack bang in the middle of summer, and it's nothing unusual for the temperatures to be well above 100degrees. Some people refuse to go against tradition, and still cook their hot baked dinner on Christmas Day, but the majority of people nowdays are much more sensible and either have BBQ's.... or they cook their roast turkeys and pork etc the day before, and serve them cold with salads on Christmas Day. With those temperatures and a different culture in mind, there have been quite a few Australian Christmas songs recorded over the years. Naturally because of those factors, they're far different to the old classics that have already been mentioned here. I daresay that these songs would be an aquired taste (as far as Christmas songs go), but I thought you'd like to listen to a couple just the same. Here are two of the most well known that I found on UTube : Six White Boomers by Rolf Harris : http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=hlSsffF2xhA Christmas in Australia : http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=UH0vMp...eature=related

I have a song that all of you must enjoy & I wanted Koala77 to see/hear it. Koala, that kangaroo one was cute. I have two things from Utube that go together. One sorta leads to the other.

Every place I go, every store, that's all they play. While Christmas used to be enjoyable to me, for the past 7 years, it's just something I have to get through. I am a completely different human being on January 2nd. This happens every year. And I'm no humbug, far from it. But to me, it's not a happy time. However, when I see a child smile, well then, it's very healing. I do hope all of you enjoy your holidays and cherish your families. Mel
