Good Morning! I've been up for hours....just puttering around. It's pouring rain here this morning. Wish I was sleepy.....it's a perfect day to get back in bed! I have nothing special going on today. Matt got up, took one look outside and went back to bed!! Can't say that I blame him! :p He deserves a day off.
There is a flock of Black-Capped Chickadees at my bird feeders this morning. There must be fifty of them out there! They're so pretty and Gracie (my cat) had been "talking" to them all morning. Weave, good luck on your interview today. Sounds like they like you! Sandy, be careful, now! You make me tired just reading about all the stuff you accomplish in one day! Tricia, glad the MRI went well for you. I'm going to have to tell them next time I go that I need a little "something" for my nerves so I can see what all this fun is about!! :p Fin, sorry to hear you have to wait on the test to be done. But, on the other hand, they must not be too concerned otherwise they'd fit you in sooner. I need to try the warm milk trick....I haven't been sleeping too well lately. I think it's the spasticity in my leg. Vonn, how's the Seattle penpal? Sox, I hope everyone is feeling well today. [B] Frank, Deb, DebbieD, Char, Kay, Barb, Holly, Wiz and anyone else I may not have mention individually.....here's a :grouphug: and I hope everyone has a great day! |
Good Morning! I thought I would check on what you are up to before I finish getting ready for school. I am finding that I am making more and more mistakes when I am typing and using the incorrect word occasionally. The other day I used the word policy in class, but wrote the word public on the board. It probably came from public policy, but it still sort of bothered me. I am going to have to start playing charades with the students if I can not find the word that I am searching for.
I hope you all have a good day. Mine is going to be really busy -- classes this morning, then office hours, then a graduate defense this afternoon. then I have to go to the store to pick up the ingredients for a mexican dip that I am making for a department party tomorrow. Wish me luck! Weave, Good luck with the interview Finn -- Hope you are feeling ok. Hopefully it does not snow next Thursday! Hi Kelly! See you all in the pm! |
Barb, so far it looks good, but they can never seem to predict right more than a couple of days ahead. I hope it doesn't snow either. Hope you get everything done you need to today.
Kelly, lol. my kitties talk to the birds too. :) |
Hi Everyone!
Good luck today, Weave. Let us know how it goes. Barb - I totally get what you are talking about. I do that when I do my transcription.:o I always, always have to double check my work. On the positive side, at least you wrote something related.;) LOL Good luck with all that you have to do today. Sounds like a busy day for you. Kelly & Fin - I slept like a baby last night. I don't know why.;) LOL. Yes, the little happy pill makes all the difference for me when getting an MRI. 0.5 mg of lorazepam is all it takes for me. Kind of like having a few drinks. Once it hits, the fun begins. I am sure if the lady registering me didn't know I had pre-medicated she would have thought I was a total whack job laughing about am I wearing weapons. Or the two ladies setting me up on the table before going in the tube asking what kind of music did I want. They actually have one with just birds. I told them listening to birds in the tube on drugs was just not me. I'd start thinking of Alfred Hitchcock and that was not good for anyone in the tube. LOL We settled for Christmas music which I couldn't even hear. So instead, in my drug induced state, I turned the noise from the tube into a symphony, trying to figure out what instrument certain noises reminded me of. There was a lot of electric base going on. LOL Update: Wouldn't you know it that on a day when I was drugged up (yesterday) my sweet ladies decided to dictate A LOT. So guess what I am doing today as I could not, would not even attempt it yesterday - I am typing my little fingers off. Have a great day everyone. I'll check back in later. |
Good morning ladies and gents!!!
tricia....Im glad you had so much fun last night. I never remember a thing about my tube ride....it takes alot of that med to get me in there!! Kelly....enjoy your rainy day....sounds like a day for a good book!!! weav.........good luck today!! fin.....Im glad the hot chocolate is working.....whatever works!!!! barb.........have fun at your party tomorrow!!! MY UPDATE: off to grocery shop...its nasty outside....heavy rains and possible icing. Id rather have snow!!!! MY dd9 is back in school today. I am very worried about her. She has been having headaches above her eyes for about 10 days now. She is a little stuffy(I wonder about sinus stuff!) but thats about it. I am going to get her eyes checked tomorrow and go from there!!! I hope its something simple!!!!! Have a great day everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Sox - I hope dd starts feeling better. It does sound sinus like. Poor thing. Big hugs to DD9.:hug:
As for the pre-meds, I learned the "hard" way on what my limit is. After taking WAY too much once and almost having to redo the whole thing another day:eek:, I try to get by with as little as possible. I can't fall asleep while in there because I jerk A LOT in my sleep so it makes it hard if not impossible to get a good "picture." That's what happened the day I took 3 of this little guys.:D |
Good Morning Everybody! :) Tomorrow's Friday! :grouphug: :grouphug: Anybody feeling sick here's an extra :hug:You all are so special to me!
I'm at the office and have my Christmas cards ready to mail out but forgot my pretty stamps at home, so hopefully, they'll go out tomorrow. Yesterday I ordered new glasses after my eye checkup, but won't get them until January for insurance reasons. I'm getting anti-glare lenses so hopefully driving at night will be easier. The headlights seem to be getting brighter all the time. I slept until 1pm yesterday for a total of 13 hours. I haven't done that in a long time. I had a new electric blanket and it helped with my back and shoulder pains so I think that's why. Usually the pains wake me up earlier. I only get maybe 6 hours or so on work nights so I really need to sleep late on my days off. I got Mr Wiz a GPS for Christmas but it's going to be part mine too, lol. ;) It's also a photo holder. :) The boys are hard to buy for, and gift cards are scary this year with so many stores on the verge of bankruptcy from the economy. I'm thinking Farm and Fleet might be safe though? They like to get clothes and shoes there. I'm going to be busy now until Christmas because we have the family party at our house on the 21st. This weekend I'll be cleaning and doing laundry. Next Saturday I'll do the cooking. I know it doesn't sound like much but this all just wears me out... Sorry for not doing individual replies, but I love reading all your daily updates. :grouphug: |
Sox, hope DD feels better soon.
Wiz, totally understand all that wearing one out. House is getting major cleaning over the next week since family will be in town, and it's been an adventure. Especially when it used to be something one could do in no time, now it's baby steps to get all that done. At least I can see the floor now, LOL! :D Trish, I get those twitches too in my sleep. Drives hubby nuts sometimes. ~~~~~~~~ Been more of a break day so far than I wanted, but hey - at least it's slowly getting company ready. :) Been in a little more pain today than I like. Really don't think the body liked my abdomen being pressed on yesterday - it's not happy today, LOL! My rebel child. :D Hope everyone's day is going ok. :grouphug: |
Morning! Jim and I are having coffee and trying to wake up. Jim is so funny. He's mad that Obama is talking through the Price is Right. LOL
Laundry and wrapping some gifts today. I hope my bourban balls come in before xmas because they are my stragler gifts for people who show up at my xmas party that I didn't know were coming. lol Frank and Deb may be coming too! Have a good day everyone and stay warm and well. |
Bourbon balls!?!? May be showing up as an unknown guest at Sandy's party. Anyone want to come?:D
When we lived back east my parents had a big open house party once we got settled and the house "fixed up." My mom made rum balls. Um, um, well there were some tipsy kids along with adults. From that time on, mom makes it clear what is for adults and what is for kids. LOL |

Tricia, my Mom used to make Rum Balls, too. My Dad had a Christmas "office party" at our house every year and there were probably 25-30 people there. I used to love it 'cos everyone brought their kids and we'd all go downstairs to the basement/family room and watch TV, listen to the radio and play pool (we thought we were so cool playing pool......we were all about 12-13 years old). One of us would always sneak upstairs and take some rum balls and bring them back....none of us liked them but we thought we were so grown up eating them. :o
|
Aw you guys/ gals. Thanks for all the good wishes. You are the very bestest. :D :heartthrob:
Slight change of plans today. I got a phone call just before I stepped in the shower. My possible future boss asked if I could be there at 1:30 instead of 1. No problem! Turns out the board president is going to be late getting to the meeting and doesn't want to miss meeting me. :D I'm delighted and scared crudless all at the same time. Will let you know what happens after I recover. I do have some business of my own to do after the interview. |
Weave, sounds like you may just have that job. Now, put a smile on, shoulders back, and go get that job!
|
hey all..
my eye apt went well not much change in script...was worried for a bit..as when they did the visual fields testing..as they did last year...right after they decided to take pics of my optic nerves....but then said they were looking good..and we can do the pics and fields every other year...I think maybe I didnt do well with right eye again on the visual fields...so they took the pics...think they worry about glaucoma... Now on way to have my first mammogram...what joy...any tips..all...is it easy...painfree...hehe.... hugss all, sarah Oh did I tell you I ended up working yesterday...5pm-11pm...ugggggg day off and trying to recover this cold...ugggg |
Sarah, take Ibuprofin before you go. That always helped me after. I can't help you with pain. They say the bigger you are the harder it is but those people don't have small boobies like me that they have to stretch on the plate. :yikes:
|

Sarah - Deep breathing, take an ibuprofen like Sandy, and relax. Weave - Yeah!!!! I hope all goes well this afternoon. At this point it sounds promising. |
I now wonder..I wasnt nervous..but you guys telling me deep breathing..lol...not too small though..so I wont have to lay out on the table hehehehe...shucks I dont have any ibuprophen at the house..we ran out of that and tylenol the other day..uggg hehe
I will be ok....I did do childbirth a natural five times....:eek:now that was pain... haha optic nerve damage from mammograms..new idea..hehehe hugss and thanks you guys, sarah (who even though just showered, feels stincky..as they say not to use deoderants powders or lotions at all in area before mammo....) |
well first off boobies being any where for me might get my optic nerves working :yikes:
Weave like Sandy said stand proud, and get that job, you can be scared afterwards, not now, be confident and give solid answers take a second or two before answering, and think over your answer. I know you can do it:hug: |
LOL Sometimes I think my no meds childbirth was easier! lol
Just kidding, really. It's not so bad. You'll be fine. |
Sarah, hope the test comes out ok.
Sandy, Those burbon balls sound good! :Starvin: Kelly and Trish, So do the rum balls. Yum!! I do have a recipe for Rum cake. It's a little bit of work, but hubby's family requests it every year since the first I made it. Frank, sorry to hear your having an off balance day. I love those smileys you've posted. Pretty cool! |
Good afternoon...had a busy morning...never went back to sleep after DH left at 5am to work out (he's crazy)...so I went to work out at 6am...
had an appointment at 10, and need to take my MIL to neuro at 1...that's never pleasant...he wants her to go on dementia drug, but she doesn't want to...as she steadily declines...so sad...she feels so upset afterwards, because she doesn't do well with his memory and problem solving tests. DH gave me my injection last night, so he knows how to do it if I ever can't...he did a good job...didn't freak out...lol... I think that mammos would give anyone visual problems...like crossed eyes...:eek:ouch!! Hope everyone has a wonderful afternoon!! |
Ok, Cayo hasn't posted since yesterday morning. Hope she's OK.
|
Kay, where are you, Cuz? We can't come huntin' you down out there in the jungle so let us know you're OK....OK?
|
Kay I hope you are feeling better, she has been down a lot lately with this dang MSbs
:hug:Kay:hug: |
Wasn't Kay expecting houseguests soon? Could they be there now? Maybe she's too busy having a good visit? :)
|
I think there was suppose to be some sort of 'party in the jungle' ... she was having company, and hubby was cooking .. and feeding the critters ... how that girl does it - it's amazing!!
|
And she's back.:D And she's a bit down. :o
I survived. I walked in with my head high, shoulders back, smile on face, and a warm "hello everyone" for 8 board members. I can tell they are concerned about my quietness. I'm not worried but it is obvious they are. sigh  I did the best I could under the circumstances. That means I'm totally out of job fetching practice and I'm sure it shows. :o But I put my best foot forward :D and now the wait begins again. Crud! I really hate this waiting game. :hissyfit: Time to fetch the school kid then send a thank you email to the library board. I think I need a few brownie points right about now. |
Well, Weave, I would think that they'd like someone who's quiet...after all it is working in a library! Don't beat yourself up....just give them a chance to respond to you. A thank you email would be nice. Shows you have class and know how to follow up in a business situation. Good luck!
|
Weave .. patience, girl ... patience .. and I read your post thinking you were celebrating with a brownie ...
then, after I read it ... I figured that you still should celebrate ... it was a good victory ... you DID it ... 2 interviews ... and you DID it!! :yahoo: |
:D I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!!! :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:
:highfive::yikes::Excited::thud: Pardon the caps but I would shout it from my roof top if I could get up there. :D My boss, I have a boss! (ehem) My boss just called and said the vote was unanimous and that the board was "very impressed" with me. Unbelievable! I haven't collected a paycheck in years, I put my name in one place and land the job. Don't tell me miracles don't happen. I'm off to buy myself a big bunch of flowers at Costco. I start work on Tuesday. Woohoo! Hmm. Hope the frozen precip they are calling for overnight is gone by tomorrow afternoon. This working gal needs some new clothes! |
:yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:
see, Weave ... and you were worried that they were quiet and that you stumbled in the interview! now - put all the jitters away - YOU have a new job!! :yahoo: |
Weave!!! That's marvelous!!! :D
|
Congrats, weave!!!!!!! That is so awesome!!!!! :yahoo: :Dancing-Chilli:
|
Yay Weav!!!! Wahoooooooooo!:D
|
|
thats fantastic Weave I am so proud of you
you faced the hard challenged and over came it congrats well done:hug: |
I hate it when companies won't ship to my P.O. box. Sometimes they SAY they will, but then they don't. The UPS guy comes at all hours, sometimes up until 7 or 8 at night, when we're all locked up and in our jammies.
And the other day, the FedEx guy, instead of coming to the front door, left a small lightweight package outside our garage door in a howling snowstorm. Just by chance I glimpsed the truck leaving, and went down to rescue it before it blew away, never to be seen again. Now Bob is pacing the floor, waiting for the UPS truck that may or may not come in the next hour, or maybe tomorrow or the next day. I wish they would just send stuff to the Post Office, where it will leave me alone until I go get it. *fuss, fuss, fuss* |
Weave that is FANTASTIC!!!! I am so excited and happy for you. (even have a little tear joy in my eye). This awesome news to wake up to.:hug::hug:
|
Weave,
congratulations...we're so proud of you!! you learned a lot during this time...how to interview, how to wait patiently, and that you can survive it!! I am so excited for you!!:D:D |
