Shocked My Guardian Angel...

Well, my Guardian Angel was busy last night/this morning!

We are having a huge wind storm, after alot of heavy rain.
At about 4 am we heard the trees above us dropping branches on the roof and EVERYWHERE... We scurried around and turned off the computers, and we both went back to sleep.

My husband got up a bit earlier than I, and found that a tree had fallen where we park our cars. He let me sleep in, thinking the city wouldn't come for hours to clear the mess. So I woke up at 8:30 am and heard chain saws!

A dead ash across from where we park fell. It was a tree left by the tree service last Sept. The city was clearing the area following our new paving etc. But they left this big one there?
I asked them, and they said, "we are not taking it"...It was pretty big. About 20 inches in diameter. It was "too big"...whatever that means. To me it was DEAD and a menace!

So naturally this is what fell today. I managed a picture or two and gave my husband "what for" for not waking me up.

It just missed my car.
This shot is of the left over stuff. The fellow who came had to run off and clear other places so he was really quick.
It is kind of ironic, this area is the same that I documented in my album in my profile! It is as if this spot is still turbulent for some reason after all the digging the city did this summer?

About 5 yrs ago where I worked a huge parking light fell behind my car this way, it landed about 12 inches from my rear bumper...perpendicular to it. The base had rusted out, and a huge wind pushed it over. There was glass all over my car and under it...which was hard to sweep up, but it missed my car itself too!

Whew! This would have been a financial mess for us at this time too. Imagine if it had fallen on a person? People walk up and down the street all the time! (they walk their dogs and jog in the street and do not use the sidewalk as a rule)

To my guardian angel...many thanks!
