You can watch the opening ceremony on the link above. It is truly going to be an extraordinary upcoming week. It already has with all the athletes arriving and being greeted and hosted by all the local families.

Kenny G performed at the opening ceremony today. A debut melody. It was truly inspirational!

Wow...how fantastic. Years ago when the winter games for Utah was held here in Logan they would have most of the events at the small resort where the Olhipie's does his Jigging.

Most all the athletes were house in homes that were just opened up on a volunteering level. We always housed at least a half a dozen kids...so much fun!!

Evidently it's only being televised locally. There was a piece on our local news last night about the lack of national coverage. Even the international news stations commented about the lack of national coverage. Some of them commented that they had travel thousands of miles to cover the event and no one from the US was covering this event!!! It was just not right! It was pretty obvious that a lot of them were pretty disgusted with our news media. They would rather cover doom and gloom than the WORLD Winter Special Olympics. No wonder there were problems raising money to cover even the basic costs!
