In an interview with Nadya's mother she said that Nadya was obsessed with having children (ya think??). She also said that she was the primary caregiver to the first six children and that her daughter does not contribute to the household other than food stamps.

The girl is not well. And the doctor that provided the procedure should be held accountable. I agree with Shelley...he should pay child support among other things.

It should be a crime to do what she did. You don't use children to get your five minutes of fame.

It just irks the hell out of me whenever I see her on TV! I no longer live in California. But if I did, I would be ****** as hell about footing the bill for this irresponsible act.

I would also be calling for the fertility doctor's license to be revoked.

This lady just seems to be sucking at the teat of the public welfare system. Her only sources of income appear to be the state, food stamps, SSI, etc. It is just WRONG in so many ways! Oh, I guess she received a $100,000 settlement in some previous case. That won't go very far in paying hospital costs and the raising of 8 new kids!

I'll get off my soapbox now.

Angry Sigh....

This subject is just SO disturbing.

Watching the narcissism of this young woman on TV and the net
is actually painful!

You know, years ago, more than 25 yrs now, a friend of ours had a ONE preemie. It cost them 3/4 of a MILLION dollars to get that baby up to discharge to home level. She weighed 1.5 lbs at birth.
Our friend was pumping milk every day and taking it to the neonatal ICU. It was totally stressful for everyone. One day she fell asleep for a nap while sterilizing the breast pump equipment and the kitchen caught on fire, and they had to deal with THAT.

It is totally beyond my comprehension how this young mother will deal with this stuff. Six previous children? That alone is
a huge responsibility. I suspect this will end in Child protection services taking the kids away. I can't see a narcissistic person like this mother, even doing a fair job with them all. WHEW!!

I'm not buying the fact that she worked double shifts, ect to pay for all those IVF procedures. Oh yeah, she got a disability settlement, too. We know a couple who did IVF twice and the cost was astronomical. But, the father makes a good living and they provide a loving homelife.

One of my gripes is that she has a beautiful son w/Autism, yet decided to bring multiple babies into the mix. My brother has an Austistic child and it take alot of care and love to provide a calm atmosphere for him. Any type of loud excitement upsets his DS. I agree, this woman is looking for handouts by going so public.

Maybe she thinks she will be the next Jon and Kate Plus 8! I think she's a strange one!

I also agree that the Dr should be put under the microscope on this one!!
Those poor babies~ They are so beautiful and they ended up in a very bad situation.

I watched Dateline as well last night as I wanted to hear what the mom had to say. However, as I started watching, for me, it became less about the mom and more about the social issues, health & safety issues, and more importantly the medical issues of the situation.

I can't make a "judgement" on this mom as I really couldn't quite figure her out. The fact that she resembled Angelina Jolie is a mute point for me as there was a time that many people got lip implants to look like her and/or Pamela Anderson or butt implants to look like Jennifer Lopez. To me, it is ridiculous to make that comparison as that is not really the biggest issue. However, she appeared far to calm and was a little inconsistent in her statements, and kind of contradicted herself. I would be a wreck if I were in this situation; married or not, other kids at home or not. Not to mention, I would be so worried about my kids that I would not be doing any interviews. I would be where I needed to be - either at home with the others or at the hospital with the babies.

I did have some concerns about the safety of the kids at home. The hate mail that came in and threats are terrible. There are so many people outraged it would take 1 nut case to go to the home and cause some type of harm to them all. That concerned me as that would not be this woman's fault.

Additionally, I think the biggest questions that came to mind were all the ethical questions. According to the program, in each of her pregnancies she was inserted with 6 frozen embryos. The one doctor said the most they ever should do are 3 frozen embryos at a time. Therefore, what was her dr. thinking? Why did he insert so many? Was it really because she had some failed IVF's?

Also, maybe because of my working in healthcare, why didn't the fertility dr recommend a psych evaluation and counseling for this woman prior to doing the IVF. I think this situation certainly warranted an evaluation as well as counseling prior to doing the procedure. And, why did this dr agree to do this over and over again for her. Quite honestly, he put her and these kids' health at risk. Was it greed? I really feel he failed to follow not only standard protocols and mentoring, but failed to follow medical ethics.

Our local NBC station thought this interview was more important than the weather. The only station that ran regular shows.

We had tornados last night. Very severe weather.

NBC only showed the weather during commercials. Sorry, but her story is not more important than alerting people and keeping them safe.

This lady doesn't need any more publicty.

Unhappy before and after photos...

This is a before plastic surgery photo:

This is an "after" photo, also showing comparison to Angelina Jolie:
http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/famec...e-wannabe.aspx

The first photo shows how small her first children are while she is PG with the 8.

I saw the interview and realized right away that she had a lip job after seeing the picture with her and her first child.. Then, I wondered, who paid for her manicure, and who paid for the lip job, and the plastic surgery. And she obviously can't take care of 14 children by herself, 8 which are the same age.

When will she have a tummy "tuck"? Think it will be more than a "tuck". Who will pay for that? I believe she is a bit off balance. Makes a person wonder

What disabilities do her children have? I just saw them on tv tonight and they didn't show the disabled ones. The audio was terrible. She mentioned what they had but no one could understand what she said.

With all the plastic surgery on her face, and swollen lips, this woman needed 8 more children like a hole in the head.

Good Grief.
