Of course they are. What else is new. Everything else is going up, why not stamps. Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah, I guess it's far from earth-shaking news. I just hadn't heard it until today when I went on their website.

Their website which, BTW, won't let you do an address change. I mean, its supposed to, but it won't.

I'll have to mark my calendar -- you know, so I don't forget! I remember hearing something about it but wasn't sure when it actually was going to be. Then they wonder why everyone sends things via email and pay all their bills on line. But really, thanks for letting us know when it will happen.

Stamps for within Oz have been 55 cents for quite some time now.

At Christmas we get a discount to send our cards.... 50 cents if the envelope is unsealed, has no enclosures and has card only written on the envelope.

It costs me $1:15 to post a post card out of Australia (e.g. to the USA), and at least $1:35 to send a letter, depending on weight.

I read an article in the paper a couple weeks back that the postal service is considering cutting back and not delivering on Saturday. I think they should just double up the cost of sending junk mail (I think bulk mailing is discounted, isn't it?)- since I get my bills online the only reason the mail lady has to stop is to deliver junk.

I hardly pay attention to how much stamps are anymore....I do all my bill paying online through my bank. The only time I mail anything is when I send a card or something. I generally order my stamps off the USPS website and get 2 or 3 books at a time. Guess I need to use up what I have. Do they make the "forever stamp" anymore?

Yes, they still have the "forever" stamp. Gettem while they're hot: only 42 cents each until May 11th!

BTW, it cracked me up when I went to the P.O. and the Postmistress actually GAVE me a book of forever stamps! It was in lieu of flowers for the recent funeral! I thought that was darned nice and can use them on my thank you notes!

Yep, heard this too. Forever stamps are awesome and last forever. If you can stock up on them do it now.
