Ronald Reagan declared one..http://www.reagan.utexas.edu/archive...88/081988b.htm 21 years ago.

Why the major calendar companies don't put it on calendars ...who knows. The dot com, Holiday Insights has them all listed on its website.

Personally I look for calendars that don't have all the holidays/celebrations days on them. I only use calendars for notes and personal organization.

Kimmie, the best bet would be contacting the major calendar manufacturers with the reference to Ronald Reagan's declaration and ask them to consider including it.

i don't think we value our senior citizens as much as we could in this country.
it would be nice if seniors could be better respected.
it would be nice if all of us would understand to respect each other better than we do now.

I voted no, we have enough days to remember. Here in Florida, every day is National Senior Citizens day.

Monday.....20% off any purchase at Sears

Tuesday....30% off any purchase at Kohls

Wednesday..Free coffee and donut at Duncan Donuts

Thursday...30% off any purchase at Walmart

Friday.....Half off all early bird meals at various restaurants

Saturday...Free something with a purchase at various retailers

Sunday.....Free golf cart rental at some golf courses.

That and many, many more stuff if your 55 and older. And if your 55 and older, it seems you can get a free handicapped placard for your car, with no questions asked. All this and they still complain. Maybe we should have a National Baby Boomer day, or maybe there already is one.

I prefer to just sit down with a senior citizen and talk about how things used to be. They have some very interesting stories and experiences to share. They really do not need a special day set aside for them.

So in Florida if everyday you get something for being a senior citizen, making a special day for them would be useless IMHO. That would be like having a B-Day everyday.
