Hi Kim,

I think the majority of people here feel that senior's should be respected.....and most do show their respect. Whether or not it's "on the calendar" won't make a bit of difference to those who refuse to respect anyone.....senior or not. Heck, I didn't even know there was a MIL day!! Maybe that's why my MIL is so snooty to me!!!

I just think that those who are going to be respectful to their elders will be irregardless of whether there is a "day" for seniors or not. Those who refuse to be won't be swayed by the fact that there is a specific day on the calendar for them.

I honestly don't think religion has anything to do with whether or not one has respect for seniors. There are many religions and non-religious people out in the world that absolutely love seniors.

BTW, I hate the groundhog and have for a very long long time. If I saw that little sucker I'd I'd...never mind.

Kimmie, I didn't mean that in a negative way. I just meant that I think so many people love their seniors, not just religious people. I must have misunderstood your post. Thanks for clearing it up.

I still think we should jump the groundhog!
