My maternal grandmother's name was Maude. Believe me she was a lot like Bea in her role as Maude

I've watched and loved Golden Girls since I was a kid, and so did my little sister. That show, especially Bea Arthur, is still funny and not dated at all. My sister was very sad when I told her this.

The first time sister & I heard the word "lanai" it was on Golden Girls, and for some reason we found it kind of funny (we were young). So I told sister that "Dorothy" went to the big lanai in the sky--it made her giggle.

I'll keep watching that show while its on TV. I'm glad Bea won some awards, and that she went in peace.
