Confused Hey photographers out there !!! need your help !!!

Hello !!

I know in this site many of you like photography and all of you are great at it, so, Im wondering if you can help me here...

I need a camara that takes good pics in dark situations and, here comes the most difficult part, without flash !

Im going to a concert and they dont allow us cams, so, I will hide it but, during the concert, I dont want to attrack the attention with a big flash light...

Do you know a model that can help me ? i mean, if not perfect pics, decent ones ???

Thanks for all your suggestions !!!

Low light photography without flash requires high speed settings and a steady tripod. Any motion will blur the images, so if the activity on stage is beyond slow, your photos will still come out blurry. Cameras need light to focus, and without it you must know how to use manual settings.

But what you are asking help with is illegal. Why not just enjoy the show and leave your camera at home? What you are describing wanting to do may get you ejected from your concert, and maybe even the venue in the future. There is a good reason photos and cameras are not allowed in concerts, theatres and other artistic venues. Don't do it. It ruins the experience for others who are mindful of the law and common courtesy.

The right and wrong of it aside...

You don't really need night vision, there will be enough light from the stage lights on the performers. Not that I would know first hand.

Yes, you are right.... Because everything else is so dark, the stage lights are enough... I know that because my corneas work properly at concerts... Probably any cam will work... I mean, everybody take thousands of pics and Ive used my cell phone, and I have to say, without flash pics come out actually better....

Thanks.

One thing I can tell you, you won't get any camera past Bob Dylan's security.

That is first hand info. People tried to smuggle them in and had to go back to their cars to get rid of them. I saw them pat people down - not kidding.

I used my old SLR camera with a fast film, at concerts. Sometimes I'd take a little cheap camera with me. But not being able to take cameras into concerts was one thing that annoyed me no end! lol Some I could take a camera into and others I couldn't...I hated when I couldn't! But usually did the right thing...because I didn't want my good camera confiscated, which they usually did, and then have the worry I might not get it back!

I don't go to too many concerts anymore, but it would be nice to be able to get a pic or two to remember the event.

Still I understand why they don't let you. Put yourself in the performer's shoes. Can you see why you would not want a bunch of people out there snapping away and later selling pics of you? why should they be making all kinds of money on you? All the while, annoying the decent folks who paid good money just to come enjoy the show.
I can get that.

Plus if there are millions of photos out there none of them are worth a dime and the artist has no control over the really ugly ones.
