Why would it be stupid to better yourself?
You may want to contact a local Rehabilitation Services or Vocational Rehabilitation Services office to help. By whatever name it is in your state it is a federally funded, state administered program. Their goal is to help motivated people – like you – reenter the workforce. They may pay for your education & help you with placement into a job that can accommodate your challenges. SSA rules encourage you to work while receiving benefits and provide for a “Trial work period” that will allow you to resume your benefits if your medical condition causes you to quit. Check with your local SSA office for details. |
