Actually yes, I do have complaints about at least one heel. I had a complete rupture of the left tendon about 5 years ago - just before this whole mess started. I had surgery and and some major down time and months of rehab. To this day it hurts, but none of that was any consideration in my case.

Your name is achilles and you have no complaints about either of your heels ?

I have since found out my benefits and why I was getting no information. SS had the wrong address so nothing was coming to me. I wont know my childrens benefits until a re-apply for them. Since my case took almost three years to complete, their original application fell out of the system so I have to take the application back in to the local office with their birth certificates and resubmit. I'm told that now I am in the system their pay wont take long to get. I'm still confused as to how much they get - if its roughly half my pay, split equally among them or half my pay to each of them individually.

1/2 your pay split equally between them ie.....if your check is for $1800 and you have 3 kids, they split $900 between them so $300 each. When the oldest is 18 then the younger 2 would get $450 each til the next turns 18, then the youngest gets the $900.

Your total family benefit can't be more than 80% of what you used to make. In my case, my kids get less because I still had WC income so that counts toward the 80% cap. If you are young or don't have a long work history, your check might still be decent, but the family benefit could be lower, so the kids might get less then also.
