Default Received two checks, recently approved for SSD

Hi, I was approved for SSD on 5/13/10, got "Fully Favorable" letter on 5/28/10 I had to go to my local office to apply for SSI, I know that I won't qualify for it now due to hubby's earning's, but there was a short time when I first applied in 2006, that we may have quailified for SSI.
Last week, on wednesday, there was a deposit from "U.S. Treasury Supplemental Security", I received another one today, same name, but $100.00 more.
Does anyone know if this is from "SSI"? Don't know what it would be named when direct deposit, Does anyone know what SSD deposit would be titled when it's direct deposit?

Sorry, hope, you can understand my question. I just wonder if maybe these amounts are backpay from SSI portion. I'm still waitng on my backpay from SSD.

Thanks

Congrats on getting SSDI. Deposits from SSDI say "US Treasury" followed by three numbers.

Thanks for responding. I looked at the deposits made and their both titled;
US Treasury followed by three #S and an X, then Supp. Sec. PPD.

Is this an SSI payment or SSD?, gosh I called the Soc. Sec. office and person couldn't look at the info.

Thanks

I should get Medicare, but I havn"t recieved any benefit notice or anything re: Medicare. I should get it as I was approved from 7/2006. If I was given a backpay payment from SSI, will it then have to be repayed with my SSDI backpay?, I probably will have to pay back, but makes no sense. It's ok.

I don't know anything re: Medicare. I do have insurance from hubby's work. I know Medicare would be secondary, but all this sounds so complicated.

Sorry, I'm getting dizzy just thinking about. aaggh, I'll be OK. just so happy finally approved.
Everyone out there waiting, don't give up! show proves of your illness and have DR. support your case, this is very important, especially a Specialist Dr.
Have an RFC form completed.
I took all the way to the Federal Level, I waas so tired of it all too, but my Lawyer was the one that helped me, didn't want me to give up.

Stay strong!

When I got approved for social security disability, it was on ther first time, which is rare. I got a check for about $5,000 first. It was a back payment check. Once you are approved, they go back & pay you from the date you filed for disability. The second check is probably the monthly check you will get. The first bigger check is a one time thing. Hope this helps! That just my experience with SSD.

Hi again SM08!

You should call medicare and let them know you have not received the card yet. Medicare covers 80%. You are entitled to it and you do not have to repay medicare at all. Did you get your backpay? I got approved right around the same time you did and my disability date goes back to 3/2006.
Yeesh..baby climbing up on my lap.
