I don't understand the MC part for you either.....that makes no sense, the insurance wasn't available to you at the time

SM, I would call them, ya know? That sounds wrong.
My backpay is dwindling very quickly payying all these bills. 80( Very very very thankful to God and SSDI that I have the $$$ to pay them off though. |
Update...remember those once of week calls I have been making from May asking the customer care reps if their was anything I had to do regarding my claim for my 4 children?
Well I must have spoken with new hires because today the rep noticed that the last name on file for payee was Hazard (my maiden name) and not Moore???? After further investigation he said I had to bring the birth certificates down to my local office again??? Well he made me an appointment for this Friday and hopefully this will all be settled and my children benefits and back pay will begin. whew! He was now able to tell me the monthly benefits they will be getting etc...thank the lord! |
Hi, On 8/13/10, I recieved two checks for two of my kids, its their backpay, I guess from SSD, The check read--Social Security Supplement disabilty,I called my local office because my oldest Daughter hasnt recieved her backpay yet, she was a minor when I first applied she is now 20.
Yesterday morning, I recieved a call from local office from agent who had seen my daughter when she went in to apply for her backpay benefits, the lady told me I needed to bring proof of my last State Disability, because she was working on my daughters backpay. Well I hope my Daughter gets it soon. (I'm going to b a grandma again, this will be my third GB, sadly my first GB,from my oldest son, was a premiee and passed away when mom was 7mos pregnant, last year, we soo loved this lil boy,he will always b in our hearts) I can't wait till my D has the baby, I'm 42yrs old, a young nana. I havn't recieved my backpay yet. My monthly payments start in September. |

Hey bum, thanks for your reply. sounds like you work for the SSA.
Like I've said before, in the begining of my SSD application I qualified for SSI and this why I recieved backpay, for a short time only, I was told by SSA agent. I have worked very hard to get my money and yes I'm entitled to it too. I tried to work as long as possible untill I physically couldn't anymore. You can judge me but untill you walk in my shoes....you wouldn't know. I didn't ask to be sick, you sound like your mad because I don't understand some of the things going with my SSD, its not my fault. Have a good day! |

If it has been more than 60 days since you received your award letter from us *not from dds or alj* then there are actions you can take with ssa. This letter will be on social security letter head and have an award date and monthly benefit amount. |
Hey bum, it's cool, everyone has a right to vent:D. You sound like an attorney or an SSD worker, it's all good.
I did ask the SSA agent why the Medicare was being billed for last two years, agent said didn't know. Re: SSI back-pay, when I was asked to come in I gave income proofs from 2006-2010, I did tell them I don't think I qualify for it, they did send me two checks totaling under 2,000, for dates they said I did qualify back then but I also noticed a couple of months for this year too. I got the SSI notice re: the back-pay amounts and dates and it said no more benfits for SSI. The back-pay I'm waiting for is from SSDI. My kids will get a continuing benefit under my name. Benefit rate is more than $674. When I was told my monthly amount it looks like they're taking out $222.00,for next months first benefit check. I havn't recieved my Benefit Letter, Medicare card or any other info, it's fraustrating. Well, there's not really more I can do but wait. I call the SSA office and I get different stories. Thanks |

Ssi is needs based so you received a small back pay for the months you weren't yet eligible for ssdi, and therefor, below the income limit and able to receive a check for those months. Since your ssdi benefit rate is over $674 (the federal benefit rate) you don't qualify for ssi for any months you were eligible for ssdi. That might be confusing but essentially ssi is no longer something you'll ever have just disregard it completely. Your well on the way, the hardest part is def over. I would guess that everything should be straightened out by next month. Oh, as far as the ssdi backpay, it always takes longer for the number holder to get their back pay. There are several factors involved that mostly have little to do with the local office and more to due with payment center and they are a lot of time backlogged. Give it 60 days after you get your award letter before you check on it. The more you check on it, the more action they take in the local office, the longer it takes. I know it sounds strange but don't call once a week. The local office doesn't release the payment for ssdi. Hope that helps let me know if you have other questions. Without looking at your claim it's hard to answer everything in detail. |
