how long does it normally take before you get your letter. It has been over 3 weeks now and nothing. I am about to give up

One would think you'd get your letter within a few weeks and before your checks start coming.

I just got a huge back pay check with no explanation of what it was.

Don't panic until a few months are up

I know but I have bills that are coming up and no way to pay them like my electric bill phone bill and such, i can't help but worry and panic

I underdstand what that feels like CDM.

Perhaps I shoukd have said worrying will only make you feel worse and won't make the check get there any sooner.

Have you talked to the electric company about the fact that you are disabled ? Most areas have restrictions that utilities cannot be shut off for a certain period of time if you are disabled or elderly.
