Default Kid's benefits

Hi again.

What happens when SSDI checks in with me and there is leftover money from the kids? Does that get taken back?

While I'm at it, if there is leftover money from my backpay is it taken away?

Not sure if you should keep any records or not. I was awarded benefits on June 24th of 2009 and my wife is my payee. She just received the review on what was done with the money for me and my kids. We do have some in savings I sure hope they do not try and take it. I do not see how they can as we are not receiving SSI.

SSDI doesn't 'check in' with you.

If you have 'extra' you put it in savings.

If you are also collecting SSI, you spend it.
