I realize that, and I specifically said that you never called anyone dumb. However, a person with a mental condition could either have a limited functioning, or they could struggle from a mental disorder such as severe depression/anxiety or bipolar disorder. He or she may have fully functioning mental capabilities with the exception of emotionally. They could be the smartest person we have ever met--but struggle emotionally.

I filled out my paperwork myself (though I do not have any mental problems), and was accepted in 3 months.

I also struggle with degenerative disc disease, disc desiccation, spondylolisthesis, arthritis, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) with insulin resistance, allergies, sound sensitivities, and other health problems.

I have severe depression, bipolar, panic, anxiety, agoraphobia, and even though it seemed mentally overwhelming, I was able to complete all of the forms online over a couple of weeks and was approved in 5 months for SSDI.

I did it myself and got approved in two and a half months and I have mental impairments. We're smart!

I used to get so MAD. I taught Emotionally Disturbed kids from Pychosis to behavioral difficulties. Some ignorant idiot would say "Oh, how nice you are, you teach retarded kids."
"No", I'd say "Emotionally Disturbed. Some are WAY smarter than you."
