Default confused by letter

I just got a letter from SS.... I have been waiting on my first decision....

Letter says...
____________
Your Temporary Password Request Code
Your temporary password Request code is XXXXX. This is not a password. Use it to create a permanent password before October 25, 2010.

If you are a new beneficiary, please make sure you have received your notice of benefit payment or your first payment before you try to register a password.
____________
Then it goes on with explanation of how to go about creating your own password online or by phone, that I will need my SS number, date of birth etc.

Does this letter mean that I got approved?

I called my adjudicator, but all she said was that they were done with my claim and that I should call my local office. When I have called my local person in the past, it has been several days before she has returned my call.

I tried going online, and it says a decision has been made, but does not say what it was.

Thanks!

Did you go to SSA'a website and request a password?

My local office gave me a number to call and when I called that number I had to wait about an hour on hold.

But, they did tell me that a letter was sent out today saying I was APPROVED! I just cannot believe it. I should get my first check by direct deposit - they took my info for that - in October. My back pay will take a while, as they have to be sure I don't owe any taxes and other stuff - she said the back pay will take from 90 days to 6 months. They found me disabled from the date I quit working when my employer let me go back in Dec. 09.

Amazing. I never thought I could actually get this without appealing and a lawyer and everything.

Congrats! Another happy ending! I had an attorney and I was approved on my first try as well. My attorney was definitely overpaid, but he provided the guidance I needed to win my case.

I just called COBRA and it sounds like I will qualify for an 11 month extension - so I may only be without insurance one month, if at all before medicare kicks in.

Things have gone so wrong for so long, I just can't believe that finally, something has turned around and gone right for a change.

I am so happy for you DayLilly,,,,I was deied 3 times and I got an attorney now. I have been waiting to get a hearing date for almost a year and finally got one for Jan 10!!! I am so nervous about the hearing, I hope things will go good for me. I am suffering from RSD, complicated migraines, depression, anxiety & COPD!!!! Did they say why it takes so long to receive the back pay? How long was it, after you were approved, that you started receiving your regular monthly checks?
