I hope I did not confuse you with this it took me a while to understand it myself.
You have the same question posted three times, but anyway here is a law concerning ssi backpay.

The amounts of the installment payments may be increased in certain cases, such as those in which the individual has outstanding debt relating to food, clothing, or shelter, or has necessary medical needs. If you have a situation that you believe requires that your installment payment be increased, call 1-800-772-1213. People who are deaf or hard of hearing may call our toll-free TTY number, 1-800-325-0778, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday through Friday.

You may also contact your local office.

I recently found out that I was entitled to the whole amount at once. One of their rules are if your approved for ssi and ssd backpay but do not recieve ssi in future payments each month that they are required to pay in full so I contacted the ss office and their suppose to resopond within 40 days

I did read at some point that you can get the whole amount, however they changed the SS site around and I can't find anything anymore. There are certain reasons. In case they don't get to you within 40 days, I will continue to look, and if I can find under what circumstances you can get all the benefits at once, I will post it.

Exception to installments for SSI. There are no installments for SSDI.

My wife has been waiting now for her SSDI "only" since nov. 2. There are no other benefits holding up her SSDI. She was not involved with WC or SSI, welfare, medicaid etc. This is 3.5 years of back pay. The banksters are now swarming all around us poised to pick our bones.

I contacted my local office today. The person I talked with had a very bad attitude as if they did not want me to find this information, but the info I found to be true. If I would not have found this info I would be recieving my backpay every six months it would be the end of this year before recieving it all. Because I did find it she said funds will be released as soon as possible.
