I wouldn't think it would have been a problem, unless you are disabled for mental health reasons.
It is probably for the best that you declined though......you don't need any extra stress. Was someone else in the family able to step up to do it ?

I agree with you,too much stress. I couldn't do it either.I can only travel short distances. I have to question their response. There's physical labor involved in being power of attorney. How are you suppose to move someone's belongings or sell property? Thats work. There is physical labor involved. Unless you hire someone ,it would be best for an attorney to handle power of attorney doings.

No it is not. There are different types of Power Of Attorney. The top 3 are:
1 - POA - medical ONLY 2 - POA - financial ONLY 3 - POA - total control I was POA financial on one of my brothers who was of sound mind but not body. He had MS & could not "travel" on his own. All I did was go to the bank for him. |

What if your brother paid you to go to the bank for him?

BB, if Ms M's brother paid her a nominal fee to go to the bank periodically, that is income but it is not substantial gainful employment.
Going to the bank on one of your good days is not the same as being able to work a regular schedule.
