Congress is political so the icon makes sense. I think all that is asked is that the conversation be kept civil. Plus, adding the icon alerts those who prefer not to read political posts.

The original post was about a possible benefit for ssi and ssdi recipients. The whole social security system and benefits were passed by congress. Under those guidelines the whole forum should have a political symbol on it then. Nothing happens with social security disability that isnt ultimately political.

echoes, perhaps you did not see posts that followed yours that had the edits done because they mentioned SPECIFIC political parties!

as I clearly explained above, there is no problem discussing congress or the political/govt system in general.

It is only mentioning SPECIFIC parties or politicians by NAME that is not ok.

The Politics icon needed to be added once the thread turned political.

I think I will have to lock this thread tho as to continue going around in this circle is counterproductive
