I have helped a few people get Social Security Disability and I must admit it becomes so hard to hear how they are suffering. They have no money, how will they pay their bills? They are in pain and need to see their doctor, what can be done? All these questions seem to be addressed to me all the time. Unfortunately I cannot always answer their questions, so I'm hoping everyone who has questions and positive answers come together on this thread and maybe we can help each other.

I'm looking for positive feedback, I know sometimes there is not a whole lot that can be done, but lets do out best for the ones who are waiting and need someone to talk to and give them a positive outlook even if it is just for enough time to give them a good nights rests, or even a good afternoon. So to all of you out there with a pending case, this thread is for you.
Just a thought.
I am also going to start a thread at the "social chat" on this site.
I don't have anything positive to say about social security, been fighting for over four years. But I can say that we are in financial riun, and we needed help with our elc. bill and propane for heat. And the Salvation Army was a great help for us.

I am with you Bret. My heart goes out to you. I have been trying to get on disability since 2009. What a joke. I am bedridden. I don't understand how they can deny me. Well good news- I have what looks like a brain tumor on MRI. Maybe this will be enough for them. So frustrated. So hard to deal with social security with a brain injury and chronic pain. If anyone knows the answer to this question it would help me- when can you hire a lawyer? Do you have to be denied once on a new claim? I had a lawyer after being denied twice and was denied again at ALJ level. My lawyer dropped me. Said he does not do appeals after ALJ. So I started a new claim. If I am denied then can I get a lawyer? I will most likely kill myself if denied again so I guess it doesn't matter

Instead of an attorney, hire a non-attorney rep, Allsup.com is one option. They will work from any stage, and shouldn't draw the process out to run up their fees. You might be able to find a free advocacy group locally as well...

I am lucky my husband has an income too, but we still struggle. Not to mention teenagers who want all this name brand stuff that costs so much and they just don't care what parents go through they think we have magic to make things happen. I am just hoping everything works out and that the truth will be enough.

If they are teenagers, flip burgers, mow lawns, babysit, walk someone's dog. All hands on deck.

Default Hi Brain

You can get a non attorney rep. I did that, and you can do it at any time. They collect NO money until they win your case. Do it, You must be able to get that disability claim going. I am in your corner. ginnie

Don't tell, demand, don't be afraid of them. Tell them, I was born at night, but not last night.
