My SSDI backpay was sent to a closed bank acct. Has this ever happened to anyone else? My SSI backpay went to my correct acct. I assumed when I notified my local SS office of my new acct # 4 months ago, that would cover both SSI and SSDI but I guess the two don't communicate.
Anyway, I notified the local office of the problem and they said they would take care of it. I was supposed to get the SSDI Feb. 8. Does anyone know how long it should take to undo the SNAFU? |

Crud....that stinks.
I have no idea when they will fix it, but I hope it's soon.

I would assume that the bank would have immediately notified SSA the account was closed. Then SSA would contact you for the correct bank account. But, knowing SSA in their infinite wisdom would want to conduct a lengthy investigation. God only knows how long this could take. I hope for your sake, they don’t drag it out for too long.
