I'm still concerned for your approval though, because they sent you to their own doc and psych. It is my impression from reading here (not from personal experience and NOT something I know to be a fact) that SSA usually sends you for those when it's a borderline kind of case. It sounds like your documentation would be more of a home run.

I think your age counts against you. I was 40 too when I applied. From reports around here, it seems like it's an easier process for those who are over 50. Having a college degree can count against you too as they figure you have more employment options.

I am actually getting used to waiting as I have had to do many times for WC to authorize surgeries. I can only do what I can, let my attorney do what he can and wait for something to come in the mail. either denial or accept, then appeal if needed. Thanks for checking in!

Yes, I think SSD approval does use their doctors to make sure there is no funny business. I was still denied a second time in my state. Fl. It took me three years and a legal aid. By the time I did get to court I was ever so grateful. The judge didn't know why I had been denied before based on what the doctors said. Don't give up. Some states do have longer waiting lists to even be heard. Keep all copies of your records and documentaion from your doctors. I did get two letters from PCP and a pain specialist, that declaired my condition. It still took court. That was a good thing. ginnie
