Is moving out of the country for any period of time an automatic red flag for SSA when you are on disability? I know that it would seem that many people who do this are taking advantage of the system, but in reality someone can remain disabled, have family in another country, continue to seek medical assistance, and live a little better financially then the essential hand-to-mouth existence many are forced to eek out on SSD?

http://ssa-custhelp.ssa.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/219 Just because you are "disabled" does not mean you cannot move, travel, etc. What most people do not realize is that when it comes to SSDI, millionaires & billionaires (who've had a real job during their lifetime) ARE ENTITLED TO & can collect SSDI if they ever become disabled. |
