Default Just approved 4/12/11

I just had my ALJ hearing on 4/7/11 and received an approval letter from the judge on 4/12/11. Thank God. I had a heart attack in 2006 at 34 and later same year a stroke and then open heart surgery and subsequent TIA's since. What a long process! Ive seen thru reading some threads conflicting statements as to how long it will be before i receive back pay etc. Anyones guess? i did realize the decision was awfully fast for an ALJ.

Assume for your own sanity that tha first monthly check will arrive in your account within two months, and the backpay, as usual, will take six months to arrive.

I am glad that you won.

Default long process

I am glad you got your benefits. Gosh you went through alot at a young age. I had to retire early also, so the benefit is not as good as if I worked my full life or till 65. The best this is the medical benefit. I would not have survived without it. It is indeed a long long road, but at the end there really is some measure of peace. Good luck to you. Stay as healthy as you can be. ginnie

Update #2 first check will be June 15th. Then SSI back by end of June. Remainder of backpay "supposedly" by end of July as per local office. But who knows....seems its discretionary!
