So please do not name politicians in ways that are possibly reflecting a negative political debate.
Social Security is a GOVERNMENT controlled issue, not one of any single politician or party.
Well, *the President* just spoke for 45 minutes. No one asked the big question: "Are the social security checks going out on the 3rd"? No one!!! Why did NO ONE ask this question?"

Of course, he never mentioned it. He did mention he wants social security and medicare for future generations. That much I got.

But no mention about August 3rd.

OMG!!

Yeah, but everyone I know who is on Social Security and is either on Medicare or a Medicare HMO, well they have a certain amount taken out every month and that goes to their medicare insurance coverage.

This will affect everybody if this thing is not fixed.

By the government dragging their feet, this will force me to curtail my spending. Hopefully people working at Walmart and Amazon won't get laid-off because of my action(rather non-action).

I live the pick in Chemar's sig.

It also fits the topic....there's the potential for danger/disaster all around us. We just have to try to keep moving forward, taking the best path we see at the time.

It took me a while to understand the first line of your posting.

"I live the pick in Chemar's sig"

I believe you mean

I love the pic in Chemar's sig"

Am I right?

And I love your quote. I try to live this way every day.

Don't know any other way to live.

The problem is that the new House members are actually quite ignorant about what the debt ceiling means. Far too many of them think that it is a means by which cash can be generated for domestic expenses (just listen to them on CSPAN and you will see how ignorant they are).

This is very much like what happened in 1937-1938 and the result was a disaster.

Remember who votes against an increase in the debt ceiling (write down there names) and then vote them out of office.

This is worse economically than anything we have seen in our lifetimes, I assure you.

If one side can get off of the "no tax reform platform" then we will be fine. If not, then our AAA credit rating will drop and there will be a world-wide Depression accoring to Harvard and Yale economists.

Don't be shocked if the President uses his ace in the hole and inacts a portion of the 14th Ammendment to solve this problem.

As a precaution, store food supplies now.
*admin edit* Scare tactics aside, everyone will get their "checks" on the day they are supposed to.
