Do you have access to other healthcare LJ ?

My husband has health insurance for our family, so I have been able to 'decline' MC and keep an extra $96 a month in my SSDI check.

As others have mentioned, there is a big range in the dates for when backpay is sent, some have tied it to which payment center you get your check from.

I got a big ol' check in the mail BEFORE I even got my acceptance letter, so it really depends. I would give it 90 days from the acceptance....after that I would be calling every week asking where my money is.

I get my check the third Wednesday of the month.

No, I do not have access to other health care and my monthly check is direct deposited so I do not know which payment center it comes out of at this time. My check delivery date is the third of the month. Yet, I want to thank everyone for the help you have given for calling the SSA is a hurry up and wait with no results.

Spoke with a very nice young lady at the 1-800 number today asking what progress has been made to get me paid. She informed me that all the previous dates that were given me were incorrect. That my case even though I had revecived a favorable decision, notice of award, and had an interview with the local office my case was not finally adjucdicate until the 13th of July and I should not contact them until after September 8,2011. For until that time they can not do an inquiry to the payment center. I also believe that the local office fail to se nd the fact that I did not need a representative payee. So, I am hoping that everything is cleared up and I will receive my funds.
I would like to thank this forum for keeping me sane. Reading the fact that I am not alone in my stuggles do give me strenth. So, keep your head up and keep up the fight for you should get what you worked for and entitled to from this program.

Well, let me tell you the latest in the ongoing saga of getting my back pay. I had a talk with the supervisor of the local office who said I would receive my packpay by August 29th. Of course I did not. so, when I called he was on vacation and not available until after the labor day holiday. He knew that he was lying and knew I would call back but he wouldnt be there when he told the lie. Why oh why do they play with people's lives in such a manner and do anyone know where we can go to file a complaint against these people for poor job performance and lousy customer service.

Default Ssid

What is it that you have that you had to apply for SSID? I know that it does take a long time for any kind of benefits from any form of payments. I had issues with Unemployment and had to appeal for my benefits. Now SSID is different kind of benefits. The part about "payment status" could mean that they have issued your payments but, because of the amount of people who appllied it's probably all backed up. Unfortunetly we just have to sit back and wait or keep on calling. Remember that ol saying "the squeaky wheel gets the oil"? That's what i would do. Good luck and let us know the progress.

Go online or call the local office to get the name of the director &/or manager of your local office. If calling, be polite.

Write the letter to the director & "cc" (carbon copy) to manager & supervisor. Letter should be brief (one page), specific & to the point.

Good luck!

Start a new thread. Ask a specific question. That is my advice.

Also go to socialsecurity.gov and read about disability benefits.

Agree, start a new thread/post and you will get much more info. What exactly is your medical disability. Or did you mean SSI? My husband is 42 and is waiting to get a response on applying for SSDI on seizures & arthritis, they dont make it easy thats for sure. Good luck and we will be waiting for your thread.
