Default 401 K lump sums & LTD

Has any one who has received LTD payments taken a lump sum cash withdrawal from their 401K and if so, did the LTD carrier say you had to give them any money from that lump sum to reimburse them?

We are trying to figure out long term planning with LTD and waiting approval for SSDI what are options are should LTD decide hus is no longer disabled or if we get denied for SSDI. Trying to decide if that money is protected.

On our financial packet from husbands employer it only states "pension benefit plan" can be confiscated but it does not say it can be for a 401K. Hus has call into employer and they are checking but it has been a week with no call back..so thought I would take it the boards

Well found out that if your employer contributes to your 401K that percentage can affect your LTD check; however, the amount the employer kicks in, does not.
