Default My sons SSI consult was cancelled and an AL on his file..was he approved?

My son and I live in OH. I won't share the details of my sons disabilty, but I applied about 3 months ago and because of his age he had 3 doctors appointments with SSI and I took him to the first one and my son failed all the tests etc.

So I get a phone call one week later from his claim adj. and she said not to go to the next appointment because they just got the review from the doctor that day and they had enough evidence to make a decision on his case that day but she couldnt tell me what it was.

The next day I called them with a question about his case and the lady said not to get too excited but when she pulled up his screen there was an AL not a D, she said the AL probably stood for allowance and that I will be hearing from them a phone call or letter.

Someone told me an AL is the allowance and that means he was approved but it will take time to process it, up to 3 months. Is everything she said true? I contacted his claim adj today and she said they mailed the decision letter out yesterday so no chance of it going to denial after an examiner.

Whenever I look up stuff on denials or approvals of SSI it says it goes to allowance or denial so does it look good that he's getting it? Just seems awful fast but my son is 2 years old and the SSI doctor insinuated his issues were quite severe.

thanks for your time

hi there...I don't have any experience in what you are asking. I just wanted to respond and say that I am sure someone will be able to relate or give you some good advice on here. I don't like it when I post a thread and I see a lot of people have viewed it and no one responded. Keep coming back here...I am sure you will get an answer soon.

Per Cupcake's 4/7 post.............

She more than likely already got her answer through snail mail.

ladydeedee, I wanted to reply to your comment about reads versus replies.

When you see a whole lot of reads, that does NOT necessarily mean that people here are reading your posts.

Robots scan every website around the world...continuously!

For every word in your post, a different robot will hit on the thread/post and list it in search engines such as Google.

Without these robots, you would never be able to type in a symptom, an illness, in fact any topic at all, and come up with sites for you to go to look into.

These robots are the mainframe of our search engines and necessary to keep the Internet alive.

So...... if you see 65 reads or 265, it may have only been 1 or 2 humans that read a particular post. One can never assume the number of reads equals the number of members to have read your post.

This subject comes up from time to time, so I hope this clarifies the topic for you.
