Default Hi Bobby

late reply...I don't think just because you get reviewed you will loose your disability. I am always going to have this long rod and back problems. I worried a bit the same way, as my pain did improve. However the origional problem is there. Same with you. I don't think you will loose your benefits. I was afraid to drop down in my medication for the fear of the same thing happening. Several people reassured me too. ginnie

also how could even the best doctor in the world say that a person is disabled with neck and back injury in 2001 and in 2010 still disabled, but health should be improved in 2013. They cant possibly know what is taking place in a persons body during those 3 years.
In other words i cant picture a patients doctor going on record and saying that their patients health should be improved in 3 years, without actually doing an exam on them when the 3 years is up.

So what can ss doctors be reading in my case to come to their conclusion about my health being improved 3 years later.

Maybe ss just says this stuff, just to actually mess with peoples head.

I can deal with the reviews, i just dont want these ****** saying am gonna be in better health 12 years after my surgery, thats just not gonna happen.
or else let me in on the secret, how it can happen.

Damn am getting angry and depressed , just thinking about this stuff again

its almost making me mad enough to just call up ss and tell them i dont want it anymore, just so i can have peace of mind and not worry about it anymore. I know thats sounds insane, but its how i feel when i think about it

Ginnie,
thanks for the reply.

I think ss does this crap to mess with peoples heads and not let them enjoy their lives{which i havent been able to do}

I understand ss has to check on people, but my God, why cant they use a little common sense on cases and realize if a person has metal in their neck or back for example, 10 years later that metal is still gonna be there and most certainly their health isnt going to be any better then 10 years ago and in almost every case their health is gonna be worse, due to increased age, less exercise, arthritis setting in, and many other factors making health worse.

It just frustrates me to no end

Default WHich Doctors do you see?

In 2010 i got the 6 question thing, whcih got spit out and i ended up getting the longer form.
I filled that out and even added new health problems. Mental health issues which have been going on since after i got approved for ss. I also added my heart and diabetes problems.

Whats bugging me for the last 2 years is the letter i got back from them. Heres what is said

"we recently reviewed the evidence in your social security disability claim and find that your disability is continuing. We have also enclosed information about working that explains some of the terms we use.
The doctors and other trained staff who decided that you are disabled expect your health to improve. Therefore, we will review your case in december 2013. we will send you a letter before we start the review."

The first thing that really ****** me off is that they expect my health to improve. Lets even throw out my new heath problems and just go with neck and back problems which is what i got approved for. How could they possibly believe that these problems are going to be any better 12 years from when i first went on ssdi? Just the fact of 12 years later, makes a person less healthy.

So does this mean in 2013 iam gonna have to go for the full doctors review based on this letter? Or is this basically the same thing written on everybodys letter?

On top of having to deal with all my health problems daily, this letter has been driving me completely insane. I have already wasted 2 years worrying about it and dont want to waste until dec 2013 worrying about it. So please can anybody give me their opinions and thoughts on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Bobby

p.s. and when i sent in the long form, i even added my medicine printout from the drugstore for the year. Total amount of drug costs were 54,000 dollars. I guess thats how much drugs healthy people use, lolllllllllll
Hi,
Which doctor did you see that put you out on disability? If the doctor who put you out on disability i saying you are improving that might be a problem. What I have learned is that most doctors put you out on disability and eed to show you are improving in order to get paid. However, if you have a good doctor who put you out on disability and there is no way you will improve the doctor should give you a letter to state that so you should give to ssdi. If the doctor does not want to then any other doctor with any conditions being treated can continue your disability. Hope this helps

Default Hi ShannEL

I think the same thing is going to happen to me. I believe it is a formal review. I think it happens to most everyone about 6 0r 7 years in. Get all your records together, and contact the person that helped you to get your dissability. I had a lawyer assistant, whos only job it is to help people with their dissiablity. This is what I am planning to do. I stopped taking an Opiate, and went down to a much lower strength medication. I worry they will consider that getting better. I also have other issues as you do. I have spinal fusions too, with plates C3-7. I do have a letter from my doctor stating I am not better, but that this is a permanent condition. I am not sure exactly how they do formal reviews. I bet someone will come along and say what happens next. ginnie

if you get the short form, only check the answers for the questions asked. dont write in the remarks section at the end.
when i did mine, the quesiton for the last three doctors visits, i put the visits that had to do with the illnesses i receive ssdi for. so i just wrote the date and what i went there for. for example 12/14/14 Peripheral Neuropathy
that s it. dont write anything extra, dont attach anything. dont have doctors send anything in.
the long form is where you must go into greater detail. writing anything extra on the short form will lead to it getting kicked out by the computer and a possible long form review.

Most people get the short form CDR. If you fill it out correctly, regularly see a doctor, your health remains the same, you aren't working or going to school, you shouldn't be required to fill out the dreaded long form...

Getting the long form will require as much attention as an original application. It can often be avoided by carefully following the directionsthinks VERY IMPORTANT LINK. http://nymakesworkpay.org/docs/Guide_CDR.pdf
