There are banks and credit unions that do not use Chexsytems, for those that have had a problem opening a checking or savings account in the past. If anyone wants me to research it for them, send me a pm and let me know what state you live in. If you'd like to research it yourself check out http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showforum=75

There are benefits and protections that come with having a regular bank account, and if your backpay will be greater than 10k, it's even more important.
